Smallville is shot in Vancouver, so the Canadian actresses aren't going anywhere. That's why they hire them for the show - it's much cheaper than importing Americans.

Man. Kristin Kreuk, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Laura Vanderhoot...I gotta move to canada........

As cute as Kara is, I'd have to go with the more mature Lois.

Last night's episode was meh, not sure where they are going with the whole Lana as a goodgirl/bad girl vibe, though was pretty funny when Lex said she can't be trusted and Lana said Lex can't be trusted...maybe Lana is a clone!

I liked how Kara called Jonn the Martian Manhunter, was a nice nod to the comic books, though I wasn't suprised at all about the new tension between Kara and Clark, it would have been to easy for the both of them to be too powerful working together.

Read in some interview with Al Gough, that towards the middle to end of the season a new Justice Leaguer is going to be introduced...I wonder who.

Going along with the eye candy they have been adding...I am gonna go with Black Canary with the Canary Cry :monkey5

HAHAHAHA, Original Members of the Justice League:

Superman---already on the show :lol
Batman--will never be on the show
Wonder Woman--will i don't think will be on the show
Flash--already on
Aquaman--already on
Green Lantern--REALLY hope it's him. I think he would be an interesting addition, but I doubt it.
Martion Manhunter--already on

Others
Cyborg
Green Arrow

I really hope the new addition would be:
Green Lantern
Zatanna (she does magic, how awesome is that)
Black Canary (would love to see her fight kara, and how clothes fly off in the fight)

Can't see anybody else that would be on the show

hehe which version of the JLA we talking about, its been rebooted a few times in the past twenty years.

Think at least from my crappy memory, the orginal group was:

Superman
Batman
Wonderwoman
Flash
Greeen Lantern
Aquaman

Its gone through a couple different groups but I can't see Green Lantern added in Smallville, no way its gonna be Batman or Wonderwoman, Aquaman and the Flash in name only have been introduced, so what other popular members can their be?

Though Cyborg was a Teen Titans member, so who knows...I think its gonna be female so choices would be Canary, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Vixen, Huntress and Catwoman as popular female choices.

I know they said that Batman was out of the question due to the feature, but I don't know that's true any more, especially since the JL feature is in the works. And the Wonder Woman feature has been shelved, so no reason it couldn't be her either.

Personally I'm voting for Bruce - it's the most interesting relationship with another hero that Clark has.

Technically Batman and Superman weren't part of the original JL line up in Brave and Bold 28 I believe it was just Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter and Aquaman. Supes and Batman were added later to further extend their tentpole status. As for coming into Smallville, believe it or not Hal Jordan has the best shot as being a guest on Smallville. It was written somewhere in one of their mythologies that Hal Jordan and Clark Kent were actually on a plane together pre GL status, the plane was going down and Hal being a pilot ran to the front to try and guide the plane to safety, Clark was told to keep everyone settled and safe and used his opportunity to sneak out of the plane and fly it safety then returning as if Hal did the whole thing and was the hero. That's not exactly how it goes but its the gist from a really vague memory. Hal and Clark actually meet pre heroes days so it'd only be natural if they met up during the course of Smallville.

I would have to agree here as well. If you look at their states of being at least via Comic Book History, Bruce Wayne would be a brooding, self absorbed and drastically disconnected youth at this time. He'd be in the searching phase of trying to find what to do about his parent's murders still. Even if you go by the recent Batman Begins scenarios he'd be brash and arrogant and really not get along well with the fresh faced and almost too innocent Clark that Welling portrays. They wouldn't get along at all and it perfectly sets up the eventual "Two sides of the same coin" that these heroes relay.

TV Guide has published part 2 of Al Gough's Q&A with "Smallville" fans. Check out these excerpts where he discusses Clark's lack of interest in journalism and whether or not he's a killer...

We've yet to get a glimpse of Clark Kent, journalist, on this show. When are we going to welcome Clark to the bullpen?
Al Gough: Not this season, but Lois will be joining the "Planet" staff full time.

Superman's moral stance on killing is very clear in the comic books. Do you believe that there is more flexibility in Clark's moral code before he becomes Superman, or is there a philosophy you have developed for these circumstances?

Gough: A great question. We were told up front by DC Comics that Clark couldn't kill anyone. Now I can hear the fans going, "But in that episode...." The fact is we adopted a policy from the start that the villain had to fall on their own sword, or die by circumstances beyond Clark's control. I've heard lots of arguments in early episodes that Clark did "kill" someone, but the fact is he hasn't and he won't. Now, when it comes to aliens and Zoners and Zod (whom in the comics, Superman did kill with Kryptonite) the rules are a little fuzzier, but the tenet remains - Superman (and by extension, Clark) doesn't set out to kill anyone. Believe me, it makes for some very interesting discussions in the writers room.

Notice how Gough says "This Season".....I guess that there is the opening for a Season 8....

Yea, batman would be the ideal choice.

Superman- the ideal and pinnacle of strength and physical power.

Batman- the ideal and pinnacle of mental strength and power.

They complement each other nicely

I watch this show all the time. I own the first 5 seasons on dvd, and plan on continuing to buy them. Truth is, I love this show. That being said, this show is terrible. And its really only two reasons that bring it from mediocre to terrible.

First is Lana. I cannot begin to describe the amount of sheer hatred I have for her. The single most useless regularly recurring character in the history of the show, she never ceases to provoke a gagging sensation or eye roll with her whiny, needy, dialogue and consistent ability to find trouble without looking for it, and how she has two expressions (The Angry Rapid Blinking Child and the Grinning Vapid Mannequin). The second is Lex. He should have grown a pair by now. He's supposed to be Lex Luthor for god's sake! The man is more weasel than he is the "Greatest Criminal Mastermind of Our Time". And he needs a new catchphrase, "I have no idea what you're talking about" is old. Very old.

The show has taken some baby steps in the right direction. I liked the stuff with the JLA, and the addition of Supergirl is neat so far. Two things need to happen though for this show to stop sucking. First Lana needs to die. For real. None of this i faked my own death or rewinding time or it was just a dream crap. DEAD. Second is Lex needs to grow a pair. Stop tip toeing around everyone. Have him kill his dad, inherit the company and start making some financially smart globe threatening decisions with some really evil stuff that Clark has to try and stop. Oh and Clark needed to fly. Yesterday. It's been long enough.

Sorry my rant was so long, I've just had some stuff about this show I had to get off my chest and none of my friends watch it.

I have a love/hate relationship with the show too. There isn't another favorite show of mine that I feel I need to apologize for more than Smallville. However I think Rosenbaum/Lex really makes the show worthwhile. He's had to go back and forth for 6 years and I think it's the fact that he's truly fighting becoming fully evil that makes him interesting.

As for Lana - I find her stories rather boring, but I think Kreuk is a decent actor and she can be fun to watch. But I find Durrance and Lois far more watchable.

I agree with you on Lex, his portrayal is the one really consistently good thing about the show. It's nice to see him as a flesh and blood character for once as opposed to the mustache twirling baddie.

looks like it will indeed be the Black Canary...with Green Arrow and her getting married in the DC comic books, I bet the producers feel the time is right...who wouldn't be suprised with a Justice League TV show in the next season or two with Kara at the helm?

Hmmm, interesting. I'll look out for that.

Yesterday's episode was really lacking Kara. I think this season, any non-Kara episodes, I'm not goign to watch at all. And I now have a hatred for Christina Millan more than Lana. horrible, horrible, horrible episode it was. The best characters on the show Lex/Lionel got small screen time. At least Lionel's back now.

I actually thought last night's epsiode was the best of the season so far.

I still think the guy playing the Planet's new editor looks absurdly young for the role. Not much of an actor either. I hope something unfortunate, and terminal, happens to that character as soon a spossible.

Great episode tonight - all mythology, all the time! And I'm glad I wasn't spoiled for the guest star - that was perfect casting. I'm sure they're setting her up to be recurring this season too.

well, I knew about the guest star, and it was still great. Who knew helen slater was still a fox. Dave, I could tell you if they are going to use her in the season, but that would be spoilery. Let me know if you want to know. So I suppose, Kara's father wanted Kara to find her crystal because it had Lara's DNA in it? I would think it would be to build her own fortress with her father's "brain" in it a la Fortress of Solitude. Guess I was wrong on that part. Or maybe it does both.
