Since this thread is already marked with the title "SPOILERS," I'm about to spill about this week's episode....so beware!!!

.....

Finally, we get to see a little more into Darkseid!!! I really liked the setup of this weeks episode, especially giving us a glimpse of what's to come.

And finally, she's back, KARA!!! :rock What an entrance. I'm hoping she stays around for a while.

Any thoughts of Ollie outing himself to the public? Bold move. I'm interested to see how this one goes. But perhaps even bigger news is what's coming next week...

BRAINIAC!!! :rock :rock :rock

Bit of a meh episode. It was cool to have Supergirl back, but the actress seemed a bit passionless, even bored, and Ollie's "I am Ironman" reveal was a bit cheesy.

I'm also really getting tired of Clark's flip flopping. At the end of last week's episode there he was standing proud in the sunlight, S shield blazing. Now we're back to wishy washy Clark. I understand what they're going for with the Darkseid possession angle, but it's just getting tedious for me.

I finally saw last week's episode tonight on Hulu right before this one, and I see what you mean. But I think that's what the writer's want to depict. I think this season will depict Clark in his "darkest hour" and he'll have to embrace this pure spirit, in order to ascend into the role we know him as (ie. Superman.) We'll see this come forth in the final episode, leaving us with the true "Man of Steel" that we've been waiting for. :rock

(But yeah, the wishy washiness weighs on me as well, but I know it's all part of the plan.)

The ep was great, i know we dont like to see clark doubt himself and keep hearing about this "Darkness" Inside him. Darkseid does that, he gets into your head and makes you break. DARKSEID IS EVIL! so far the first 3 eps have been huge story eps, setting alot of stuff up. I think they have a pretty huge suprise for us next week, im excited! GOod to have Kara back also.

And the scene of clark taking flight training gave me goosebumps at first, then i laughed my ass off (in a good way!)

Id say a great part 3 in the epic final chapter of the RISE OF SUPERMAN!:rock2

The "Supergirl" episode was great. I enjoyed seeing Lara Vandervoot back as Kara. Her outfit was a close resemblance to her Supergirl outfit. She needs to add the "S" sybol on her chest. That would really make it more authentic. "The Darkness" aka Darkseid is a strong opponent for both Kara and Kal-El. Feeding on your most inner doubts is something every human fears, much less superheroes from another planet! So it'll be interesting to see how Darkseid is used in this final season from here on out. It'll be good to see James Marsters back as Brainiac, and hopefully another step for Clark/Kal-El towards becoming Superman. I agree that after seeing the end of the last episode with him standing proud on the rooftop with his new red jacket...then reverting back to the doubting Clark was disappointing. I guess the writers are showing more of his inner struggle to become stronger and more self-assured in his faith in his abilities and his destiny to become Superman. It was nice seeing him fly for what...a few seconds? I think Kara will help him again with it, and maybe that second time he'll get it. I liked how she told him to focus on just one thing, and nothing else to be able to focus himself into flying. Very cool.

I never thought Lara was "boring" or "passionless" in her role as Kara! :dunno I've always liked her, and think she's a great actress. Besides the fact that she's very beautiful...like Erica Durance. I could watch Erica read her grocery list. Okay, back to reality. I'm a married man after all.

Oliver's "Tony Stark/Iron Man moment" took some guts, and it'll be interesting to see where that goes for him from here. Telling everyone he's Green Arrow, may help, but also hurt him further. I know he's reeling from Chloe's departure. But I know at some point she'll return this season.

Overall I'm very happy with the way this final tenth season is going. :)

^ Great review Mike! I feel the same way! Hows the USCM customs coming along?

I think Darkseid is just getting into clarks head and feeding off that little shred of doubt he has and using it to his advantage and saying theres this big "darkness" inside. Darkseid does that, hes evil! i like how the writers are going, but id like it if clark steps up and believes in himself, and doesnt doubt himself, Hes SUPERMAN!

I just heard the Five for Fighting song "Superman (It's Not Easy)" on the radio this morning, and was thinking how awesome would it be for them to end the series with that song? I know the CW puts up and coming songs in their shows, and even though this song is like 10 years old or so, it sums up Clark's journey perfectly.
And yes, I do remember they did have this song in an episode in season 1. I didn't forget! :wink1:

So, I agree, but I think that's going to be the ultimate point/theme to this season. I mean the entire show has been Clark Kent's road to Superman, but with this being the definitive last seasn, Superman has to "take flight" by the last episode to give the show any validity.

It's pretty obvious with Jor-El holding his suit hostage. The talk of self doubt. The desire to fly. Yeah, this season is the birth of Superman. That being said, Superman's greatest strength is his humanity. It's a good bet that Clark will realize his self doubt is based on his desire to be human...but that he can only be the hero he needs to be by holding ON to that humanity.

Also...no one commented on Supergirl's alter ego? Again...Superman should have been Super Girls inspiration for that look..but it was still a cool moment. And she look 10x hotter in that get up IMO!

And I just wanted throw this out there (Warning: Random comment ahead):

I've always been impressed with this show's soundtrack since day one, so I'm calling it now. This season better feature "Secrets" by One Republic. If you haven't heard it yet, listen to it. It's a great song IMO and if it doesn't scream "worthy of a Clark and Lois moment", I don't know what does.

It would be a PERFECT way to foreshadow what's to come between the two. Perfect. Perfect.

I'm still waiting for them to play "Secrets" by One Republic. It is THE perfect song for the moment when Lois tells Clark or vice versa about his secret. It gives me goosebumps everytime I here this song. It screams Smallville IMO.

And I also agree with you as well. They need to bring the Five for Fighting hit back one last time.

I just heard that One Republic song on the way home from work. :lol
But yeah, totally agree it should be used as well.

I read somewhere that this was originally going to be the opening theme, before they realikzed that they needed something a little more exciting. And thus we were treated to 10 years of "Somebody SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE MEEEEEEEEE!"

It's a good song, isn't it?!?! :lol

Like I said, EVERYTIME I hear it, I think Smallville.

This show needs to hire us for musical direction in the last few episodes. :clap

As long as I can be Ms. Durance's personal assistant, I am there!! :yess::yess:

:lol My girlfriend would kill me if I took that job, so sadly, you can have dibs on that one.

I'll settle for errand boy. :rotfl
