WOW! What a powerful episode! I love all of the discussion between the "good guy" Brainiac and Clark about Clark letting go of the darkness of his past, and concentrating on the present. The episode reminded me a little of "A Christmas Carol" with all of the time travel, and reflection on the past, present and the future. You know I was nearly in tears a few times, and I'm a guy, and not ashamed to say that. Superman is my favorite superhero, and Smallville is definitely one of my favorite TV shows of all time. James Marsters did a perfect job, and really brought something special to his role as "Brainiac 5". The writing for this episode was GREAT. Top notch! I loved what Oliver said in his interview, about being a hero and not being ashamed of it. Another great scene in this episode.
It was so nice to see Clark and Lois truly connect at the end of the episode. You can see how much they really love each other. Seeing the stuff in the future was great. I wonder if that young man that spoke to Clark when he went to his old familiar desk at the Daily Planet was...Jimmy Olsen? Anyone else out there think that is who he was?
I think after the events of this episode it should help to convince Jor-El more in Clark's favor that he IS prepared to become the hero he should be. It is definitely a turning point the right direction for Clark becoming Superman.
I agree that this was one of the very best episodes of the entire series! No question about that!
Power, they played "Everything" again in the 200th episode. This is a perfect 200th blast-from-the-past episode. Hope you're watching.
