Maybe he's the Emerald Archer's sidekick

He is but not that one. Roy was never Ollie's kid, just an adopted ward similar to the Robin/Batman relationship. I fully believe that Chloe Sullivan stepped into the Moonday "Sandra" Hawke role and that the kid is actually Connor Hawke who stepped into the role of Green Arrow for a while.

The episode wasn't perfect by any means, it ran a little long and Jonathan Kent interacted so much with everything I started to question whether or not he was still dead. The suit moves were a bit of a cop-out especially considering it's the finale they were obviously CGI'd for the most part but that final Daily Planet move with Perry, Jimmy, Lois, Bumbling Clark and of course the shirt tearaway finally showing Welling in some sort of Superman grab definitely made it worth it. The episode tied up the Smallville mythos even with Lex nicely and it felt like an ending which is more than some shows do in their runs.

The only things I hated were that no one ever really called him Superman especially considering the build up of the last few episodes and that we never got a full shot of Welling in the suit, I thought the space moment ala Superman Returns, we'd finally get it but they went to the comic instead. The John Williams music was fantastic though and just that small three minute move made 10 years worth it IMHO.

The memory reset seemed like a copout to me. And didn't make much sense. This fast acting neurotoxin seemed way too selective.

Apparently all of his memories are erased, but he still has basic cognitive skills, knows who he is, and has all of the education and knowledge neccessary to run the Luthorcorp company?

Well in reality they never even eluded to what Lex was after that since he was never shown after that. It tied up the loose end just to tie it up really, if the show were going another season it would have to be more flushed out but they were just clipping strands at that point. I don't think it was needed really though, as it was with the Toyman, who knows who Clark is but refuses to say because he "wants to play" Lex's monologue gave the sense that he wanted to defeat Clark, to be that perfect enemy so I figured he'd go the Toyman route, knowing but keeping the secret to continue the game. I would have been fine if they left it at that.

Well apparently he was still competant enough to have the next few years be so successful that it leads to him becoming president, as it showed him doing that on the tv at the end.

Very clever huh? one of the most criticizes things in the Superman mythos is the famous Superman erase kiss from the Lester Cut and everyone suppose to know how stupid and silly that was and now without hesitation the go for it.............and all, is totally perfect btw how cheap did it look the scene were Lex was announced as the new president, i guess by 2018 the news would look more modern than an 80's rip-off

Smallville = :slap

Lex as President. Look at the political leaders not just in our country but around the world, it doesn't take even competence in some cases to get there just support.

That was a nod to the infamous President Luthor storyline and of course Public Enemies which brought both Batman and Superman to fight off Luthor and his agendas. It was to make fanboys squeal nothing more.

It would also make fanboys squeal if Pete was shown next to him as his vice president with his wife Lana. Doesn't mean it would make any sense whatsoever in the tv world.

Ok, so in that case they are just crappy parents. But atleast the kid wont lose an arm. Wouldnt put it past him to shoot his eye out though.
With the gigantic spring loaded bow and arrow.
That his parents gave him.
At age 5.

Neither does the fact that people who forget the Clark/Superman connection especially considering there are yearbooks and photos all with Clark sans glasses around or that people would forget that Lois and Clark were actually attempted to be married 7 years earlier to wit he forgot his glasses there too or that Jimmy had an older brother nicknamed Jimmy that were both photographers or that there'd be a Smallville comic that detailed 10 years of Smallville about Superman and no one would make the connection.

Some ____ you've just gotta let go.

loved the finale. now i've got nothing to watch besides ESPN and Game of Thrones. :(

I broke a sweat with the last 10 minute, I was like "I was the suit I want him to push back apokopis, I thought that his not touching the planet was lame. But I'll forgive that... And boy, Welling just would not put on that suit would he?!

I'm fine with it! I would have love a bout though!

Well done Smallville... Well done!

I am in China at the moment and wont be able to dl it till later, but am I hearing it right that tey do not show him i the suit flying off? WTF

I thought the finale was great. The ending was fantastic. I was happy to finally seeing Clark do Superman type things. He WAS Superman. Great way to end the show.

I'd love to get a Smallville Superman for my collection. Hell if we could get a good Welling sculpt I would just pop the head off one of the Returns figures despite the color difference

Actually, given the ending, I'd prefer a shirt-rip Welling to a full-Superman Welling.

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I wanted to chime in.

For me, when a finale 10 years in the making leaves me content, I think it did its job. When Jor-El told Clark that his training was complete, that to me, was the defining moment of the entire episode. That's when I said to myself, "THIS is a finale."

Smallville was always about Clark Kent and his journey to becoming the legend we all know he will be. After tonight, I truly believed that the journey had come to an end, and it left me with a smile on my face.

Well Said!! :clap:hi5:

I want the comic book myself. I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if DC comics will release the comic for the DVD release. Maybe like an exclusive to the box set.
