cool - i actually quite like the hasbro one - if you casted that - would the shrinkage actually improve it?

My thought on it was that casting the Hasbro head might be better than the Tomy one, since the bit of shrinkage will only help the Hasbro helm. Plus like he said the Tomy helm is multiple pieces and I would guess the back of the helm, because of the shape might be a hassle to cast right every time so both pieces work together well, but I know jack about that side of things. lol

I also think that it might be a good idea to make the head an optional piece since there are likely gonna be people with Tomy helms they intent to use. So likely not as many heads would be cast compared to every thing else.

So the parts needed are.

Casted:

Helmet
Chest
Back
Elbow armor
Bicep armor
Shoulder armor
....I figured you probably would like to do proper ones.

Sewn:

Cummerbund & pouches
Bodysuit
Neck cover

Other:

Rubber belt:
The rubber belt thing I would like to find a better way of making because it needs to be flexible so i don't know if that will be able to be cast, or at least worth while to cast. I would like to see the pieces that are on the belt cast then attached to real straps. I have thought about just doing the casting for those little bits myself then I can slap them right on belts. They seem like simple little bits to cast for a person like me, with only a little bit of casting experience.

leg Holster: This would be easy for me to make and don't know why I have it here, except that its similar to the rubbery belt and a funky shape so likely not castable.

Stuff people would need to get themselves:

Boots
Gloves.....unless you wanted to cast these.
Nude Dollie

Anyhow I think that's everything.

Cool indeed... I have started the first prototype mould now.. you know me cant sit still. and we will see how they go. just doing the chest armour now. If they work then we are in business... if not.. well no scout armour LOL.

with the the body suit Bill could u make like half a body suit
and then some basic black combats.

Heres some progress shots.

Body suits are much easier and I think more movie accurate, even though I like how they look with the military/swat pant I figured i, if I made pants like that with pockets and all it could double the amount of time it would take for me to get the sewn stuff done. Actually, making a spandex shirt or body suit take about the same amount of time. I would think that if we wanted to keep cost as low as possible for people they could get those types of pants cheap for their figures themselves and they would fit right over the body suit.

I don't mind doing them at all I was thinking time/cost and whatnot, getting whats needed done so the whole project isnt being held up by me.:impatient: < this could be Mark :lol

Anyhow we can sort that out later, and mabee even put it to some kind of vote among the people that will be wanting one, or just make that little extra thing for those that want it.

Also got some visitors with me at the moment from Texas land and Stears and star wars collectors....

The Pooh Dooh Squad are on holiday overseas to get a new paint job :) and they are most welcome although the squad leader has been eyeing up me Schooner of Sherry!!! I will have to watch him!!

LOl well I think spandeex suits are great Bill I love yours and would love to get some more off you if you can bang a few out (lol i love that phase)

I think a spandex suit is the way forward then the swat slacks could be bought later and slipped over the top bish bosche job done!! :)

Like I said we can work out details like that later, theres always the possibility it will be like the helmet, and not every one would want it, so it could be optional, though they look damn cool on the scouts so I could be wrong. :lol

I don't mean to be the a-hole who tries to tell you what to do and how to do it, but in an effort to help save you some time and silicone I'll be that dude just this once! (Well, maybe not just once, but I am really just trying to help!)

I noticed in your pictures of pouring the silicone that you have pieces like the chest armor that you have laid down in your mold box and poured the rubber on top. I would assume that once the mold cures you will cut out the back side of the mold. It will make it easier if you were to build up a base that fits the shape of the armor in clay, so that no silicone gets underneath, and no cutting later. Like so...

This can even be used to make a two part mold with a little more effort, but that won't help on the saving silicone part. ;)

Cheers Unsung I appreciate any guidance and advice mate. I have tried 2 piece moulds in the past but lack the skills or knowledge. I am using a very crude method. But it seems to eliminate any air pockets.

I will try to show what I mean with pics when the mould cures....

But please keep the advice coming... I am still very new to this casting stuff... but I love it!!!!

Numbs out!!!! Due to the boiling sweat shop conditions in my loft the silicon cued in a record time!!!!! As did the resin, so the first cast is not perfect and there is a really annoying bubble in his mouth which is so frustrating but nothing that can not be sorted....

Mark, you may be new to casting based on the amount of time but if you base it on the number of casts you've done in that period of time you're an old pro.

You are a parts casting machine my friend!!!

BTW, I'm sure you guys probably have this covered already but if you need a spare Hasbro head I have one to donate to the cause.

Ahh cheers Rocket!! too kind my friend. Which Hasbro head were you referring to mate?

As for you BILL!! we all know you are gonna make a little leather cap... and some little bitty leather shorts!! we know weeee know!
