That's my plan. I spent vast sums on my existing customs. Even if I had to sell all my Batman and Marvel stuff to do it, I will spend what it takes to get the best Ghostbusters money can buy. And probably more than one set.

I'm hoping that the BW will be one stop shop for me, but I'm ready to mix & match too. I'm only leaning toward the prospect of BW!s because while they're decent, I'm not nuts about these sculpts or the size of Venkman's. I'd be happy to be surprised and have SS produce a less expensive, superior product to BW, that I'd have to do minimal to no upgrading.

Let's just hope that your joke wasn't future truth, and BW is in fact doing the original line :lol

Well it's not so much a joke as a precaution in my own mind. I've been traumatized before when I saw GB prototypes that never were released.

and 1/6 scale stuff often shares the same fate. These companies seem to be capitalizing on the new movie, but it will be released soon (well before figures are produced), and the film may well flop. At which point, what is the business decision these toy companies will make? At least Blitzway seems only concerned with the classic film, and has shown an interest in revisiting classic films pretty exclusively. So, I would be a bit more concerned about Soldier Story on that front, with their prototypes of the new characters.

Well, I'd imaging that these guys are smart enough to know that the new movie is great for creating awareness and revitalizing the original, but it won't be a fraction of the sensation pt. 1 was. HT thinking BvS was going to be well received enough for them to make life sized Bats is one thing, thinking that this GB reboot is going to be a huge success is another :lol

Well Soldier Story must have some expectation to that effect, given that they're doing figures from the film. If I were in their shoes though, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole :lol

those are Kubricks from Medicom, 100% sure, maybe under another company name, but they are kubricks.

So Soldier Story looks like their plan is to make figures from both movies. Blitzway maybe just the first movie & Ecto 1 ?

Blitzway happened :rotfl

You're damn right! :lol

That seems to be the current plan for both companies. Though I'm not sure SS's strategy is very well thought out. Their plan to make figures from the reboot is risky and borderline dumb considering the hate and disdain the film has already received, even prior to its release. Also, planning to do figures from BOTH the original ghostbusters films, although ambitious, may spread the company out too thin and result in either incomplete figure sets and/or lower quality figures.

Blitzway on the other hand appears to just be focused on the original film, which I hope translates into higher quality figures. Their plan to release both 1/6 and 1/12 figures is pretty cool, placing them in direct competition with SS and mezco. I'm pretty certain who will come out on top with the 1/6 GB line. It will be very interesting to see who will come out on top with the 1/12 line, as mezco's One:12 Collective line has been really impressive so far.

As for the 1/6 Ecto-1, BW hasn't showcased their ability to make vehicles before, so I guess no one can really say what we'll get. But based on the quality of their prior releases, I feel pretty confident that they'll deliver an epic product.

In the case of both companies there isn't too much more to say until we get some more information/prototypes to discuss.

True, all we can really do at this point is speculate. But after SDCC, I'm sure activity will rise in both the SS and BW thread. I really do hope both companies do well enough with their respective lines to continue producing more GB figures. Maybe it'll turn out like HT and SSC with their Star Wars lines - BW focusing more on the primary GB characters and SS focusing more on secondary, niche characters.

I was just bringing up things to talk about like what accessories each will have. Did they all carry ghost traps in the movies? Will Ray get his goggles & Egon his p.k.e. meter? I really hope we get a couple slime blowers from the second movie & maybe a lil jar of slime lol dancing toaster? jk

These are bootleg and with the official announcement of actual licensed figures from Blitzway coming I'm shutting down this thread. I encourage all collectors to only support licensed product.
Ignore these - they will never see the light of day.

This thread has been reopened. Everyone should know that these are most likely bootleg or not licensed for the world, but only for selected territories.

I have a really hard time accepting these are bootlegs. The sheer amount of high profile use of the GB imagery at a show and depth of merch selection would be wildly unorthodox for bootlegs.
