Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

If TLJ is a guide to what Disney will accept as Star Wars, how bad a movie were these initial two directors making to get fired and reshot?

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Apparently they were fired due to heavy modifications to the script and trying to turn the movie into a comedy. The tone didn't fit Star Wars.

Which makes the 'jokes' in TLJ all the more surprising.

I know "the story" Disney released that everyone's agents and lawyers agreed to... I'm curious what the real story was.

I think they wouldn't drink KK's green milk.

Well Disney's story was just creative differences. This stuff is more behind the scenes talk, also Kennedy didn't like them.

I don't think it's farfetched that whey were going in a different direction than what Kasdan wrote. His tone doesn't match theirs whatsoever when you look at their previous work.

C'mon the jokes in TLJ were great !

"The Poe prank call", "the saber throw", "the blue milk suckle", etc they were all great......NOT !

I agree. Dumb move to even consider them in the first place.

I think Disney wanted to do an MCU style approach with different styles of movie in the Star Wars universe. Then realised, umm perhaps not.

Just shows me they don't know what they are doing. I'd even say give Dave Filoni a go at a movie or something. He at least "gets" Star Wars.

I'm hoping for a decent live action TV show actually. Something as epic as Game of Thrones with decent effects etc

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Star Wars live-action TV would be an expensive proposition. They've been talking about it for as long as I can remember and the closest they've come is the GCI-toons.

But if anyone has the bank to pull it off, it's Disney. Doubt it would be considered until they finish Episode 9 though; they'll have more expendable cash for a few years before they start the next trilogy to get a series off the ground.

I can't see a good, watchable live action Star Wars show happening for anything under a Game of Thrones budget, which is 5-6 million an episode I think.

If they want to really make it mach the rest of the universe seamlessly and make it diverse, that's so much CGI and complex sets... So many extras as well.

The last thing we need is Agents of SHIELD with a Star Wars logo.

Agents of Shield or even Gotham is exactly what I fear.

They'd definitely need to spend the money to make Star Wars acceptable for TV... but that would also undermine the luster of Star Wars on the big screen, which is something to consider.

Nobody should drink Kennedy's green milk. Especially from the teet. Moldy milk is deadly

Eh can't you already find plenty of that in GOT?

And a huge portion of GOT is still location based, they use their VFX resources carefully. Can’t see SW making it to the small screen without a major shift in storyline (small story set in a real location) or a massive drop in quality. Maybe “Broom Boy - The Legend of The Stable Boy”.
