Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I can't see a good, watchable live action Star Wars show happening for anything under a Game of Thrones budget, which is 5-6 million an episode I think.

If they want to really make it mach the rest of the universe seamlessly and make it diverse, that's so much CGI and complex sets... So many extras as well.

The last thing we need is Agents of SHIELD with a Star Wars logo.

Well, we've got a new SW movie coming out every six months now - why not add a Star wars TV show into the mix too?:slap:lol

Maybe they could also do a Star Wars sitcom, inspired by the breakthrough humor of TLJ?

And a huge portion of GOT is still location based, they use their VFX resources carefully. Can’t see SW making it to the small screen without a major shift in storyline (small story set in a real location) or a massive drop in quality. Maybe “Broom Boy - The Legend of The Stable Boy”.

If Disney owned Game of Thrones, then every character would be fire-proof.

When Jamie had his hand chopped off, the Disney version of him would have picked up the severed hand, tossed it over his shoulder and walked nonchalant out of frame.

Just read that John Williams is writing the musical theme for Han Solo’s character. That’s kind of interesting.

Williams is a personal hero for me and even though he's past his prime I find it reassuring since at least he was there from the beginning.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Really there shouldn’t be anyone else writing musical themes for OT characters; regardless of how this movie turns out.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

At some point, we will lose Williams. The last vestige of emotion in the Star Wars universe.

Then we'll get the musical equivalent of Rian Johnson who wants to throw it all out and start over with mediocre ideas.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Williams never did a Solo theme in the first trilogy while Luke, Vader, Leia and even Fett got the treatment.
Even if the movie sucks Williams talent stands alone and can be enjoyed separately.

Well, I'd count Empire's Han-Leia love theme as a starting point for a Han Solo theme. A variant of that would be nice.

I would think the TIE Fighter/gunner sequence in the first SW would make a good starting point. It's an adventure theme, it's not an overly re-used peace of music, it's closely associated with a Han moment.

Yea the dude is like 100. Drag him out to make music that sounds like the other 7 or so movies? Should be kicking back on a beach with Sean Connery doing absolutely nothing except looking at the hot little girls run by while sipping their drinks.

Great artist never want to stop their egos get in the way but DiFabio is right just like Kennedy announcing Rian getting his trilogy was just marketing for TLJ the same thing with JW they’re just using the name while he still has a pulse.

It’s SW i’ll be there opening night.

John Williams is 185 years old, he ain't composing jack ****. Nothing new anyway. His best days are behind him.

In these movies, he's nothing more than a name to use as advertising.

"....not sure if I should keep swinging from DiFabios nut sack after this ...
but everyone likes him and he's so popular...
but it's John frigging Williams...."
