Thank God Miles Teller didn't get the part. The fool hadn't even seen the original trilogy until after he was asked to audition:

I had never even seen any of the original Star Wars movies until maybe a month or a couple weeks before my first audition because I was like, ‘I should check this out’ [Laughs]. It holds up. I just love Harrison Ford. I think that’s a great character. I love his brand, I mean so many guys would’ve played that part so wrong and he has humor at the right times. Harrison Ford is a very big actor, when you see the facial expressions and the things he does he goes big, but he’s just always the coolest guy in the room and he’s got all of those great qualities.

Despite Fant4stic, he's a talented actor, but definitely not right for Han Solo.

This is one project I wish they would just cancel, nobody will be happy with any actor they choose. I know Ingruber is as close to a Dead Ringer for young Ford as you can probably get, but I'm not sure how good an actor he is. Very few people are not only going to look even vaguely similar to Ford, but have the same charm and Charisma he had. This project really needs to be aborted, it's just a bad idea.

I say that, and I'm a dyed in the wool Star Wars fan. I was there in 1977 as a 6 year old kid who was absolutely stunned by what he saw on screen to today, a Father who couldn't wait to take his 7 year old Daughter to TFA.

If this movie turns out decent, then Disney indeed practices some powerful black magic.

Whiplash was quite good, he had another small movie that I liked. But yeah, he has that kind of face that makes your fists clench.

He's also a huge pompous *******, according to several reports (and one infamous interview with a female journalist).

And he just doesn't have much screen charisma. It's mind-boggling (and hopefully not telling) that he was even considered, because he's basically the exact opposite of what is needed for this role.

I admit, I know nothing of him outside his acting, but looking at him, I can believe everything you say.

Aaron's potentially got the charisma but nothing else would suggest playing Solo to me. Everything else would be wrong, wrong wrong.
