I don't know any of those guys but they seem to get gayer from left to right.

I liked Superman Returns too. It did better box office than Batman Begins but was still considered a flop.

The Fantastic Four - made no money - everyone hates it = failure
MOS + made money - everyone hates it = failure
DREDD - made no money + everyone loves it = failure
ANH (2015) + made money + everyone loves it = $ucess
Batman v Superman + should make money - everyone hates it + *BONUS* Awesome Hot Toys Dolls = $ucess

Ruining memories of great films, one movie at a time.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I'm on record as saying that this movie is a dumb idea to begin with, but seriously... if they actually cast one of these dweebs I will have ZERO interest in it, even with Lord & Miller directing from a script by the Kasdans.

To cast someone that does not embody a young Ford as much as possible is a non-starter for me. Period.

Ingruber or Bust.

What's weird is that this project is being kept completely quiet and within a very, very small bubble. Much more so than the other Star Wars films in development. But that's also what's so scary and why I can see them making a disastrous casting mistake.

Agreed. It's supposed to be the same character, the same version of the same character that Harrison Ford played. This is not the place for some random actor to do his own 'take'. Therefore Ingruber makes more sense than anyone to me.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I just keep wondering if maybe...in long stretches...Ingruber is possibly not a great actor? I love his impersonations and I've seen the clips as young HF - which, in a small dose, are kind of great but also kind of forced. I've posted his videos on here and I hope they gave him a chance but I can't really say he has to be The One.

But I sure ain't feeling those guys. I didn't even want Chris Pratt and that dude in the middle looks like they're casting young Starlord. I definitely don't want imitation Chris Pratt. Or Dracula on the left or Carol on the right.

The guy from Transformers seems like a go, to me.

It's actually NOT the YouTube impersonations that did it for me. It was his portrayal of Young William in AGE OF ADALINE. He played a younger version of Ford's character in that and it was completely genuine and not forced. He just happens to eerily look and sound a lot like him. Even Harrison Ford himself called finding him for that role "a miracle" (he almost surely wasn't aware of the YouTube impressions).

Admittedly I haven't watched the movie in whole. And I know he had also been scheduled to voice young Han on Rebels before they scrapped the story.

I just want the best man for the job.

Unless there's another complete unknown out there with uncanny young Ford characteristics he would seem to be the only man for the job. Every single other name rumored for this so far is a big FAIL.

This is ****in' Han Solo, we're talking about. A younger version of the same exact character that Ford made an icon. As A-Dev said, it's not a reboot, it's supposed to be the same exact guy we see in the other films, just younger. Fail at making that believable and the whole thing is a wash and a non-starter waste of time.

I don't disagree.

I hope his agent gave that good a pitch.

Incidentally, for all the talk of Ford ''phoning in'' performances he was excellent in that film.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I don't even care if they get Ingruber. I'm not "doing" any more SW prequels with young actors playing classic OT characters. Whoever they pick to be Han will just be another Hayden Christensen or Daniel Logan and I will NOT connect them to the OT and TFA. Ford is Han, period. The only way I'd even consider a younger actor as him would be if they pulled a Young Indy River Phoenix and had both actors in the same movie. Even then, I'm not so sure.

Now can they go out and make an entertaining movie? Sure. But like a-dev and I were chatting about a while back, movies with different actors just never truly connect. I still can't really link BTTF to BTTF II or BB to TDK because of the damn girlfriend switcheroos. And the latter is the freaking Dark Knight! I just don't see it happening with this new Solo flick which is okay because I certainly don't need a "young Han" movie anyway. He's young enough in ANH.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I'm also not really interested in this prequel junk. My interest level is almost as low as it is for the WB Snyderverse stuff. So many interesting places they could go with the Star Wars "universe," but they only want to stare backwards.
