Don't know if it will suck, but I wish they wouldn't make it. I'm only interested in Ford playing Solo, anybody else is a waste of time and the stakes are too high.
I'm open to being proven wrong though.

I think it COULD be REALLY good but it has the following hurdles to jump:
The actor playing Han has to REALLY be good and win us over. Obviously this is the key to the whole thing.
DO NOT over do the fan service. They are already promising to show a bunch of big moments in Han’s life that I would actually rather not see. I absolutely hate when they take all the mystery out of the characters and make comics/books/movies about Star Wars moments that were better left to the fan’s imagination. Those little mystery bits are what makes it special and fun. They made an entire comic book of how 3PO got his red arm. UGH.
SPOILERS** I think they are showing how he gets the Falcon, meeting Chewie, meeting Lando, the Kessel Run, etc. They’ll probably have him first meeting Greedo, Jabba, Boba Fett, getting his red blood stripe, getting his blaster, getting his chin scar, making mods, etc etc etc. DON’T TELL US EVERYTHING.
They did a good job in Last Crusade where they had an adventure with young Indy, adding to the character, and then little VERY FAST bits with him first using the whip, getting the scar, and finally the hat. That was really well done, but wasn’t the big focus of the story and it made sense.

My last rant about taking the mystery out of everything may be a female thing? There is nothing more interesting than a guy who is cool and mysterious. When a guy tells me EVERYTHING ABOUT HIMSELF or when I do learn almost everything about him then he can quickly become BORING.
A girl will tell you she wants to know everything about you but once you do she’ll wish you hadn’t. We are weird like that. LOL.

If I remember right, that was never how Lucas wanted Jabba to look. He was a simple stand in in case they figured out how to make him look and work the way Lucas wanted him to. More like the Jabba we saw in ROTJ..
