Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)
I think it looks like alot of fun....
I dunno what people are expecting on this forum sometimes.....a rejuvenation of your youthful exuberance?
A religious experience?
Something to restore your faith in humanity?
All I want these days is an entertaining film...this is not a trilogy film so , with Solo I am expecting an action sci fi film....with a back ground story for Han Solo. I doubt that can be much more than it is......hopefully a fun ride and decent story. If your expecting some kind of OT type experience....I got news for you.....thats never gonna happen again in your lifetime.
Chewy looks good to me, thinner younger type look, which may or may not make sense.

You sound exactly as you did in the TLJ thread towards those that did not like it. I have yet to hear someone say they want a rejuvenation exuberance, religious experience, or restoring faith in humanity. Most of your posts really make you sound like a casual SW fan and someone who enjoys "an entertaining film with a fun decent story", not someone that feels connected or vested in this universe for 40+ years, or however long you've been following, or someone who's spent thousands of dollars on merch & collectibles. You don't seem to portray any passion for SW, good or bad, in your comments or posts. And if that is the case, makes no sense as to why you'd be here on forums that talk about dollies from movies.... ??
And yes, it is possible for an OT type experience. RO did exactly that. Seeing Tie Fighters, Star Destroyers, the original Death Star, Stormtroopers & Imperial Officers all ripped out of the OT, as well as Vader and of course Tarkin & Leia looking and sounding (through cgi) exactly as they did in 1977. Did we watch the same movie in RO?? I actually had goosebumps and love that movie even more each time I watch it. Not trying to pick on you, but your comments just stood out to me more than others.
As far as the full trailer, It looked OK. Not as good as RO in the nostalgia dep't. And looks like some of the story elements of Solo's background really don't fit with the characters mystique. Never felt Han Solo was ever a team member yet here he is with a team. He was always a loner until Chewie, due to his life debt, made him open up more. And that Luke and Leia were the 1st to make him feel he could make a difference and become part of a team. The turning point for his character, which again would make his return to his old ways in TFA hold more weight. Now it seems like he just flip flops... Loner, team player, loner, team player, back to loner, then team player and dies. Have to wait to see how the movie actually plays out, but trailer makes me feel like this is not the Solo from the OT. And the actor is smiling way to much, and not in the Harrison Ford smirky way... And how do we make
Chewie look different?? Well, he can live up to over 700 years, and he's only like 400 (middle aged), so he wouldn't have aged as much over the course of the movies, soooooo...... Hmmmm, let's give him 2 bandoliers!!! New merch boys!!..
