Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

More important question about the dice would be, after Luke Projection gave the dice to Leia in TLJ, why did she just toss them on the ground in the abandoned base? She didn't know they were projections, you'd think she would have held on to them as a memento of Han.

That's cold, Leia!

She wanted her son to pick them up as in “look what you have done now face your demons” and “I’m still alive you didn’t win!”

There is not a single thing about the dice that makes any sense - like not one thing.:lol

Like the fact that Luke creates them as virtual objects to give to Leia as a memento of Han (despite them not actually being Han's dice,) why they endure - just sitting on the floor - after Luke dies, that Leia just presumably dumps them (as this supposed last reminder of Han given to her by Luke,) that Kylo just happens to find them in the huge base, that they fade away after he picks them up... there's literally another ten non-sensical aspects, but to go one leads to the utterly non-sensical nature of the whole holo-projection concept itself...

Tali, you really hate Disney huh? Did you have a bad experience with Goofy as a child?

;)

Who knows what’s capable in the Force.

To quote another wonderful Disney film....

Let it go.....Let it go....

I actually liked this trailer.
But I'm still not sure that I'll go see it at the theaters.

So the Falcon had a collapsable pod in the front originally ..makes me wonder why Han never replaced it :lol

Now I kind of want to see what happened to it in the film.

How does pointing out a non-sensical plot point (which it 100% is) translate to you as I "hate Disney"?:dunno How do my feelings about a global media company (I have none) affect my opinion of a plot point in one of its films?

And let what go? We were discussing the real-not-real virtual/holo-projecta-dice that's guaranteed to last hours after projector's death.

That... Luke gave Leia which I guess she could... actually feel as if they were real? Or she knew they were not-real virtual/holo-projecta-dice and so couldn't feel them but "held" them so everyone else would think they were real? The poignant reminder of Han given by her brother Luke as he heads to certain death that... she just dumps on the floor... because she knew Kylo - who needed a reminder of the dad he skewered the PREVIOUS WEEK - would find them because ... she knew he'd survive whatever Luke's plan was... which Luke didn't tell anyone including Leia but she... knew Luke wasn't really there - or not - but it took Poe to suddenly figure the whole thing out otherwise Luke's entire virtua-presence on Crait would have been a waste of time as the rebels would have just gawked at him doing his thing and not escaped (which was Luke's plan, but he forgot to tell anyone)...

:gah:

I TOLD you not to open this can of worms. Now where were we? Hating Disney right?:rotfl

Dice back story doesn't matter--they're Rey's dice now. Rey owns the Falcon and everything in it--dice, Chewie, EVERYTHING. All that matters is that the dice are now the symbol of how the matriarchy overthrew the patriarchy. :chase

Rey owns Chewie?

Sounds more like the oligarchy did the overthrowing.:lecture:lol

You mean the real dice or the holo-projecta dice? And... maybe the Falcon wasn't really there if you know what I mean. Maybe that's a holo-projecta Chewy that Luke created. Maybe that's why he looks like a PT Chewy - Luke couldn't quite get his look right.:dunno

Rey owns anything related to the Falcon--real or holo. Chewie should have gotten the Falcon after Han died, but Rey swooped in and took the Falcon right from under his nose. Not that she earned it, she just took control of it because she obviously deserved it. If Chewie had tried to take control he would have been accused of fostering inequality, sexual harassment for trying to remove her from the pilot seat, and mansplaining for trying to explain why a girl Han knew for a couple hours doesn't get to take control of a ship Chewie has been on for decades. Instead, Chewie is now a comic relief background character--as are all the male characters in the Star Wars films now. I wonder what cute creature he'll get to interact with in the next film instead of doing anything of substance for the story.
