I've looked the other way at some of the nonsense from this Disney era of SW and still managed to enjoy the movies, for the most part. But this one is more than I can tolerate. I know that Lucas started abandoning SW integrity as far back as ROTJ (though certainly flushed it with the prequels), but the sale of the franchise to Disney has led to a complete loss of integrity. Star Wars is now (un)officially fan fiction. Nothing needs to make sense. Coherency seems to be barely more than an afterthought. Characters from the past are nothing more than board game pieces to use arbitrarily for the sake of novelty, or just merely on a whim.
We'll probably never get another Star Wars movie/show to ever exist for the sake of the story, but rather to just cash in on the legacy built in the past. So, this recent revelation/spoiler from Solo shouldn't have come as a surprise, but still made me think, "you've gotta be ****ing me!?" I've never seriously considered not going to a new release of a SW movie since my first in '83 (and all since then have been on opening day), but Solo will likely bring an end to that.
Disney, I know you'll be fine without my money, so who cares? But, unlike you want me to believe about Lando, I can't just take anything and everything put in front of me and still say, "yeah, I can get down with that."

Ridiculous, any of the characters in the OT could have been gay/straight/bi but they didn’t make a big deal out of it. Why can’t we go back to that? I don’t have a problem with it at all but once it’s pushed down my throat I don’t like it. Just focus not the characters and not their sex life, it’s Star Wars it’s never been about sex....

At least now we know why Lando blew off Threepio in Empire - he didn't wanna get hurt by another droid!

Speaking of identity, SW is losing its own, starting with TLJ (which I liked as a film, just not a SW one). Solo feels similarly un-SW (despite all the familiar references they throw in).

Yeah. I've never watched any movie and wondered to myself what the characters sexual orientation/preference was before. Whether straight or in the LBGTQXYZ Pansexual spectrum. Now it has to be a subject of debate. I guess every movie needs to have an intimate moment or sex scene to clearly define who they are. Are those in the "other" club that desperate or lonely to have to fantasize that their favorite characters are one of them? So much for Billy Dee's reputation as a "Ladies" man. Now he'll be known as the guy who played Lando with the reputation of a "anything with a hole" man...
