I bet he won't be wearing the classic costume though. Unless younger Han Solo already had the outfit and gun from ANH.

If he wears the classic costume, it'll probably be by the end of the film like Chris Pine in the first Star Trek film.

Am I supposed to applaud when he comes out in clothes that I recognize?

Is this the extent of nostalgia now? Clapping for clothes?

Yes, but that's almost always been the case with famous characters...otherwise, it's just an actor, and not the character.

More often than not, it has less to do with nostalgia or fan service, and more to do with the filmmaker recognizing those elements that make a character iconic, or at the very least recognizable or unique.

Yes, but that's almost always been the case with famous characters...otherwise, it's just an actor, and not the character.

More often than not, it has less to do with nostalgia or fan service, and more to do with the filmmaker recognizing those elements that make a character iconic, or at the very least recognizable or unique.

Nah, It'll be an opening sequence like the River Phoenix part of Last Crusade. At the end of the sequence another smuggler will hand younger Han a black vest and say something like "always shoot first, kid".

There'll be a scene where Aldren looks at the hyperdrive of the Falcon and the wind from it will morph his face into Ford's, just like in Man of Steel.

It's likely Cavill just looks very much like Reeve from that angle.
