Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Forget fatigue that’s nothing compared to opening night for TPM I wasn’t fatigued I was suicidal as I watched the horror unfolding before my eyes

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I watched Solo last night with a bona fide true blue TLJ hater/Kennedy boycotter who only begrudgingly decided to go after he heard that Darth Maul was in it.

His verdict? A solid "B" with his only complaints being that he didn't care for L3 and that he wished they showed Han as a pilot for the Empire before he has demoted. This guy couldn't have been more jaded about the future of the SW franchise (we crack each other up with his endless rants about TLJ and mine about the PT, lol) and even he had a great time.

Since it was $5 Tuesday it was a decent crowd and it was nice to hear the audience engaging the film. Han's "not if you round down buddy" line got a huge laugh from the crowd. After three viewings I just might have to say that it's actually tied with RO. They really did perform the impossible with this one. RIP Solo trilogy, at least we got a hell of a "one and done."

I think I've only seen the original theatrical cut; didn't even know there was a director's cut. See, even a talent like Milos needs to be monitored. :lol

DC of Aliens = sucks (in fact any Cameron DC sucks)
DC of Blade Runner = sucks

Directors cut of Aliens sucks? Since when? I can't watch the theatrical anymore - too damn short.

:rolleyes2

Aside from the Maul fight, that sums up my first (and only) viewing of it perfectly.

Oh and you and crows need to change your avatars. :yuck

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I hate to quote a far right daily like Breitbart but it's true. "Go Woke, Go Broke". Half of the article is rightist garbage though. "Eventually liberals ruin everything" is the conclusion. Probably 80% of Hollywood filmmakers are liberal, including George Lucas, so the writer is an *****.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I don’t watch movie trailers, so when I watch a movie for the first time, everything I see “is” for the first time. Having said this, I can’t recall loving any Big Budget blockbuster movie (i.e.. Star Wars, Jurassic World, MCU, DCU, Alien/Predator, Pirates) the very first time. Simply because I don’t know the story, characters, whats going one. Its only in repeat viewings (with subtitles) where they eventually become loved. I might go into a movie with expectations but when they do not meet my personal expectations I develop a opinion. However second viewing and onwards the movie is what it is and you start to focus on everything in-between. Eventually these movies (with the exception of Jurassic World) become loved (Stranger Tides, Rogue One, Ant-man etc.) Just because they are what they are and you feel like getting a hit. That’s what movies are about. I’m looking forward to repeat viewing of Solo once it arrives on Blu ray!!

This post made me realize that not only I don't wanna see talks about politics in a movie section...
But also sick and tired of Star Wars. Star Wars this, Star Wars that.

Being sick and tired of Star Wars makes the decision to read through, and post in, a thread titled "Solo: A Star Wars Story" a peculiar choice. Star Wars. I've gotten burned out on Marvel movies, so I don't go into that section of this forum. It works. Star Wars. With so many options in this world, and even on this forum, you don't need to read through anything you don't want to. Star Wars. That's the beauty of free will. Star Wars. Oh, and one more thing . . .

Star Wars!

Yeah, but Luke came back because he had to. He had no choice. His buddy was frozen there in a block on the wall at a fat slug's house, so he had a great idea to have some new friend go work there and scout the place. Then he sent his two droids to make an offer that he knew the fat slug wouldn't accept. That's why he sent his sister disguised as a bounty hunter to turn over their other buddy to the fat slug. Then she'd get caught thawing out the first buddy. That's when the plan would really kick into high gear. Long story short: the small droid had a hidden lightsaber the whole time so that after everyone got captured Luke could just slash the place to smithereens. Pretty cut and dry, really.

So, is that why you come back here too? If so, who's the buddy you have to rescue from this place? Is it Wor-Gar? :wink1:

Had Q’ira not come out and thrown the thermal detonator at the Kessel soldiers they would all be dead Han was even on his *** at that time. At least she can handle a thermal detonator Han only had a stupid rock to throw at the centipede lady.

Had L3 brain not provided the coordinates for the Kessell short cut they would all be dead.

Had Q’ira not killed Dryden Han would be dead.

Women definately saved the day lol
