Wrong franchise, but can't help but think:

My Blu ray arrived a bit early, so I finally got to see this today. I went in with low expectations and actually quite enjoyed it.

That droid was a bit much though, they seem to have forgotten the art of subtlety. But regardless, this movie is infinitely better than the pile of trash that was TLJ (which seems to have unfairly hurt this movie also)

Nice to see some folk giving Solo a try after so many decided to opt out as a protest from TLJ.

One film shouldn’t be judged on another.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

It wasn't a protest at all. TLJ was just so bad that I had no desire to watch any more Star Wars for a while. It was nice to be pleasantly surprised by Solo.

For me it had nothing to do with TLJ. I skipped it because of all the bad press. I have a 1-year old at home, so I have to really pick and choose what movies I get to see in the theater. I always planned to see it when it was released for home viewing.

There was a time in my life where I would allow nothing to get in the way of me being at the first showing of any new SW movie and I mean nothing!

That time is now! :lol

I only saw it last night....enjoyed it. Never thought I was watching a Han Solo film though.

I definitely felt Firefly vibes, as if it were a young Mal Reynolds. Probably as the seedy settings and the heist job aspects of the movie are more akin to the FF franchise. But that isn't surprising given that Mal is heavily influenced by Han Solo. I really liked that this wasn't filled with fanfare and focused more on the dark, dingy aspects of the Star Wars universe. It had enough in it to remind me that it was Star Wars at the same time without being OTT. The more I think about it, the more I like about this movie and actually want to watch it again already...

Man, I feel sad I have no excitement or desire to run out tomorrow to get Solo on Bluray. Same thing happened when TLJ was released. I remember walking past it in Target not believing I wasn't excited to buy a SW movie to bring home and watch again and again. :(

Solo was Ok. Better than I expected and 100x better than TLJ. But still no RO for me. I'll buy Solo on Bluray, eventually, but as of yet I do not feel compelled to watch it again. I'll wait to see it a 2nd time when it hits Netflix or watch it at my buddy's house on his 4k projector, then buy it when it's in the $10/$15 crowd. Even my son doesn't care. He's too busy watching the Clone Wars series again for the 3rd time after hearing about it's return.

:lol :lol :lol

Would you then categorize it as a Chewbacca and friends movie?

Yeah I would kind-of....he was never Han and to be fair he was never gonna pull that off. It was a Star Wars story end off. Much like Rouge One or Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.
