Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

This is what they get for making a non-Harrison Ford Han Solo movie. Them getting fired makes more sense than them walking away. After axing Trank's Fett movie and encouraging Edwards to go with his instincts and kill everyone off in RO I'll continue to trust Kennedy until she gives me a reason to do otherwise.

Funny, I was listening to a interview on XM with Harrison Ford. And the guy asked him what he would say to whoever is cast as Kid Solo if they asked for his insight on the character and what he should do. Ford responded "I'd tell him to ask his director." :lol Zero Fox given about the characters he has portrayed.

Yep, it's just another thing that makes him awesome. I remember an interviewer asking him whether Han shot first. His answer: "Don't know don't care."

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Yup. I loved his answers. They were all short and to the point. He really has no attachment to things. Pretty much someone you don't want to interview because he was so direct with one or a few word answers and didn't ramble.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

:lol

Back in 1997 I was asked to be an extra in his first movie "Zero Effect" and I never watched the finished film but we were doing a scene where Bill Pulman goes into a public bathroom in a YMCA to pick up some briefcase or something that had been left in one of the stalls. It was this little production and Jake was directing the extras instead of letting an AD do it and he was just acting like a complete moron who has no idea what people actually do in bathrooms. At first he wanted me holding my live exposed **** in front of a urinal, then asked the DP if I should be "playing with myself" and at that point I was all dude I don't care if your dad wrote Raiders I did not sign up for this and excused myself from the scene.

Fantastic film. My Kim Dickens crush started there.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I'm open for another Lucas SW movie.

He should just have Trevorrow fired then change his mind and not do it lol.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I say scrap the film. I personally don't see the need to see how Han became Solo etc etc.

Same way I think a FULL movie based on boba fett and Darth Vader. It's so daft. It would ruin the mystery of the star wars characters!

Gotta love Ford. :lol

Disney's poor treatment of filmmakers was bound to bite them in the ***. Jenkins quit a month before production. Wright quit a week before production. These dudes quit during production.

My money's on some of the actors dropping out now, specifically Glover who is very much an Auteur himself.
Yeah, Marvel Studios has been on a pretty massive downward spiral in terms of ticket sales. . .I bet they can barely afford to keep the lights on :(

:rotfl

Honestly, I would prefer these studios to let bold filmmakers do bold things, instead of, really pandering to mass audiences as they do. But you know what? This is a big business, and if they didn't rake in the cash the way they are, we wouldn't be getting these things at all. So, I'll take it. I don't expect to be blown away by this film, and if they hadn't intervened, that was a possibility with the LEGO guys at the helm. But I have little doubt it will be a fun romp worth a couple of hours of my time.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

So Kennedy fired them.. haha! it's becoming the poison chalice of the movie business. And the PR BS that covered up Gareth Edwards rough time on Rogue One is nowhere to be seen. She "fired" them. **** that's unprecedented when a movie production is almost complete. Trank, Edwards, Lego Boyz...

And who's next.... Colin ****ing Treverererooow. Who always looked like the weakest option in Kennedy's little portfolio of SW movie directors..
And then "Book of Henry" happened... fans are already petitioning kennedy to get him off the movie :lol

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Who would cry if he was canned, no one.

Why they hired him to begin with was all JW box office related.

Meh RO was great, none of this **** matters other than making for fun forum banter.

Directors are only a tiny part of the corporate equation anyways.

I don't know why she would fire a pretty non-descript, middle of the road director, who frankly should just be happy to be there. Zero about Jurassic World indicated to me that he had strong artistic inclinations or a particularly creative drive. He was pandering to nostalgia full stop, and whenever the producers made a suggestion I'm sure he responded "yes sirs, right away sirs!" *in Jon Lovitz voice*

This deserves a dramatic facepalm, I'm afraid.
