Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

They keep hiring these newbies... and end up bringing in the old guard to 'fix' it. Maybe that's the new formula. Drain the kiddies for anything new, then bring in the know-how to actually execute a final.

Sounds like Disney has discovered the secret to immortality.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Trank - removed/fired before production.
Edwards - replaced in post production.
Miller/Lord - removed fired during production.

That's a hell of a hit rate!
:lol

And there are petitions to replace 'Colin' springing up everywhere since his last movie crashed and burned.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

They also fired Michael Arndt and axed Lucas' original Episode 7 treatment. No one is safe! :panic:

:lol forgot about those two.
Allegedly Abrams had serious issues too, but he's so slick, he knows how to play ball no matter what goes down.
Seems Kennedy genuinely liked Rian, so let's hope he gets a clear run at it.

He's too old though? Did you see his interviews during TFA? Poor man has Alzheimer's or something similar.

I think that's just old age and cocaine catching up to him.

He's still good at what he does.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Yeah, I've seen a lot of him on makings of etc over the years but that was completely ramped up on the TFA interviews, maybe he's been hitting the hard stuff again.
But it seemed like Alzheimer's to me, he was barely holding it together.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Gilroy improved it when he took over the reigns.

I'm shocked at how well Disney sells their false narratives to fans.

I heard extensively about what Edwards' original RO was and when compared to what we got, its like comparing Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket with Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Yeah but Edwards directed it, not Kubrick.
I'm sure he had equally impressive ideas for Godzilla. Which was as bad as Pearl Harbor.

Disney didn't "sell" anything to this fan. :lol

So the battle came down to this:

The 2 nerds wanted a comedic Han.

Kasdan wanted a sarcastic selfish Han.

Good riddance then, the lego nerds can go build a falcon and have any han they want in their imagination.

My han ain't no comedian. He's a dooshbag with swag. :lol

Unless it was totally inappropriate and unfunny Deadpool style humor I would have probably preferred that Kennedy just let the Lego guys do their little comedy. I think it's a bit silly to treat every little off shoot movie as if it's a critical piece of the "holy" narrative. We've got RO and the OT. Now they can take risks and just have fun from here on out.

It's not like most of us were going to accept Alden what's his name as canon anyway.
