Apparently this movie is t even connected to venom or the mcu. Holy crap I've never seen this much incompetence from a studio before. I don't see how anyone can defend this. Somebody get Spider-Man the hell out of there. He'd be better with fox.

I don't understand why people are so upset about this and Venom??
Did anyone really think the MCU was going to get all of the Spidey world? I feel lucky they are even lending him to the MCU, even though it benefits both companies.
I haven't like a Sony comic book movie since Spidey 2 but I thought it was great. I'm willing to give them a chance based on casting and director choices for Venom and this flick.

Here's the thing tho. Casting doesn't really matter to me. Garfield and Emma stone were great actors but the studio is bad. Spider-Man 1 and 2 were both movies where the studio didn't have much control and they let raimi call the shots. Feige was a part of those movies.
With Spider-Man 3 we had the studios aka avi arad come in and force a story that didn't fit the directors vision and it ruined the movie.
Fast forward to reboot where it was a retread of the same crap only done sloppily. Then came asm 2 which is probably the Batman and robin of spiderman movies. All because of studio meddling and people who don't know what they are doing.
I'd give them a shot if say these movies were like 10 years ago but this was fairly recent and this venom movie screams desperation. Nobody and I mean nobody wants these films except for like one guy. They aren't making these movies to tell some compelling story they are pulling a fant 4 stic and trying to put a death grip on the rights. That's all it is. I just don't trust a studio that had three attempts at the character and messed it up.
Also this venom movie has no Spider-Man. This black cat movie has no Spider-Man. These characters work with Spider-Man. It's like making a movie about bane and a cat woman movie and we alllllll no how that went.

No, it isn't. But the fact that you think it is shows what a complete disconnect you have with how films get made and how people make them - and I have no desire to educate you on how those things work. When Trank's FF film was announced, people like you were already bashing it (people that know nothing about filmmaking). I see you're continuing this absurd pattern here and deeming films and concepts you know nothing about, failures.
An older Peter Parker will be revealed in time. Rather than build up to some huge villain like Thanos, this R-rated universe will build up to Spider-Man's return. But you'll be skipping all these movies, correct?

You expecting a masterpiece from a venom movie? Made by the people who brought you the emoji movie? Good luck. It doesn't take a genius in filmmaking to see the studio is a hack but it's hilarious to see you defend a studio that doesn't have a clear plan.
FYI . Spider-Man will never be rated r genius. Spider-Man is a kids property, he gets his money from children . Wolverine you can get away with but spiderman is a bigger icon and still sells the toys the kids by. So a rated r Spider-Man film ain't gonna happen.

Give me a break . If a studio failed to deliver three times with a franchise then why should we as fans open our arms and accept anything that comes out from them. They should of never rebooted after 3 .
Remember that sinister six and aunt may movie? Yea I trust them to make amazing ideas for my fav character. Please.
Also the funny thing is I use to defend these films cause I believed Sony could do great with character but after asm2 I just said enough.

They will make an R rated spiderman movie when Barney (that purple dinosaur) gets an R rates tv special lol. I will be skeptical till i see this r rated venom for myself. Not gonna hate it just cuz its sony. I just dont have faith in it lol

Nah, it was nowhere near as bad as RT made it out to be. Then again, today's online society of moviegoers determines whether or not a movie is good or bad based on RT.
So yeah, just because a bunch of MCU-disciples [who call themselves film experts because RT "Certified" them to review films] say Trank's FF was absolute garbage, or Snyder's BvS was utter crap, doesn't actually make it true.
IM3, Thor: TDW, Ant-Man and Doc Strange were all certified fresh yet they are all generic horse **** my kid couldn't even get into.
"Green Lantern" wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.
