I went ahead and picked up a Lim Toys VGM Peter Parker head sculpt, and wow I'm impressed. The quality is very good; it looks just like the game. I mean, if I didn't know LT didn't produce it I would assume HT did lol

I popped it on this 2099 figure, and man, it's so cool! My pics don't do it justice, but in hand it looks fitting on the VGM figure(s)!

Well… I did it. I bought my first Hot Toy.
I’m 35, dreaming of diving in since I was a teenager. A big new job and I wanted to celebrate.

Miguel was always one of my faves. Sideshow having free shipping and the FEB22 discount pushed me over. It’s cheaper than any eBay prices I saw.

So… this is where it begins. Lol. I’ll need to make a custom web cape for him, but otherwise I’m excited.

This is a great way to start, I hope you enjoy the hobby!

I have a plan, though who knows how it’ll turn out. I plan on using some premasking material (the stuff that often covers vinyl sticker decals), running some thin or clear wire alongside the sides, texturing it with hot glue, and a tutorial I saw online showed a way to hinge it around the neck without damaging the figure.

I’ll kick that down the road a bit, but I’ll be sure to post the result.

I modeled a custom cape with plans to 3D print it in flexible filament but the model still needed some modifications and I still haven't gotten around to making them yet

Fascinating, please share the results when you're done.

I once imagined it needs to be a young Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada under there.
But now that he's Moon Knight too, the webs are getting crossed,:google Your option looks great!

Sup gang, I've bought a 1/6 Hot Toys Spider-Man 2099 second hand and it appears to have a broken bicpe/shoulder joint.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to how best to look at the joint better, or go about a repair? I was thinking a seamster or someone that deals with fine miniatures or dolls, to at least help with the unstitching.

the easiest thing would be to order this from sideshow and when you get their figure, to let them know the one they sent you was broken and you want a refund. Its a bit sleazy but I dont see another great option for you that isnt going to either cost you more money or a lot of time and frustration.

Considering picking this guy up, but a lot of the photos I’ve seen of him look really scrawny, something I always thought was cool about Miguel was how much beefier he looked compared to Peter, can anyone who has him let me know if I’m just seeing things or if my assessment is accurate?
Thanks

Hey Dr.Frank,

Sorry that I don’t have pictures of him next to my Iron Spider or Miles Morales figures but I can say with certainty that the Spiderman 2099 figure is larger than both of them, he is taller and a bit thicker.

The Spiderman 2099 figure is not a “beefy” figure, but he is not scrawny either. He has long arms and legs but does not strike me a being skinny.

He is an extremely cool looking figure, in hand the costume is amazing because of the deep colors and variety of visible textures. If you get him and he is too slim, you can just put the costume on a different body. Here are a couple of pics I still have on my phone (my figure is in storage), I hope they help …

This figure is definitely not scrawny. If that’s your main issue you have nothing to worry about.

The design and material of the suit gives the illusion this guy is bigger than he actually is, which makes him appear more beefy. Especially in a slightly off center pose, it looks incredible.

If you enjoy Spider-Man 2099, this is a must. It’s going to take a long time (if ever) we will get another realistic 2099 suit, non animated.

I swear I’ve seen this multiple times already. Liar!!!
I just moved! And I’m neck deep in making an Azrael right now. “Sword of Azrael” #1 just came out, giving him his first solo series in 20 years, so it’s on my hot plate.

…Shilling that issue aside (it’s great!), he’s also serving as a testing bed for some crazier cape display options, which is gonna be important for Miguel.

Oke fair I'm giving you a pass. First solo series in 20 years?? Thats crazy. I only know him from the Arkham Knight game, never seen him before or after I finished that game.
Not to dumb him down, but hes in essence a more honourable Batman right?

Actually the opposite. If Batman is a “demon” that won’t kill, Azrael is an “angel” that does. He was selected to replace Batman after Bane broke Bruce’s back, but his methods were too extreme and violent so Bruce had to take the mantle back. From there, Azrael’s journey has been trying to be a hero with his assassin programming constantly trying to push him over the edge.

Anyway, he’s got a crazy cape, so that’s helping me problem solve for my Miguel web cape approach.
