From what I've been reading the deal isn't completely dead yet. :huh

The end result, many believe, is that Spider-Man will not be a part of the MCU going forward, although that has not been explicitly confirmed yet. (It's also possible Sony and Disney could still agree to some new deal.)

Could be wishful thinking on the author of the article I guess.

I have no love nor support for Disney anymore either. In my opinion, the only thing I love more than Marvel/DC characters would be SW. And they went and ****ed that **** up way worse. But they were in control from day one. Marvel already had the MCU set in motion, so it's just now they are dipping their corporate agendas into the MCU, as the upcoming slate of movies in Phase 4 is a clear indication of. They are trying to show how great and proactive they are to changing sociopolitical climates. Pandering to everyone, especially the SJW crowd. All you need to see is their casting choices on sooo many movies.

They and Apple both should be the poster children for greed today in corporate America. They are so big and powerful and have the media and people brainwashed/scared into thinking they are great, wholesome, genuine honest family oriented corporations...

But in this particular case of Disney v Sony over Spider-Man, Sony's not just greed but stupidity and arrogance, is outshining Disney.

:)

A drug company raising the price 4,000% on a medication you need to survive when the cost of production of that medication didn?t change is greed.

An insurance company you legally are required to use refusing to pay for repair or replacement coverage on property you own after you loyally paid them their premium for decades is greed.

A repair shop charging you for car repairs after they faked fixing your vehicle or just reused old parts is greed.

Entertainment companies do not create products you need for survival or legally are required to purchase.

It is not the law that Loki needs to buy Apple products or pay to watch movies from studios.

Please tell me why Disney and Apple are poster children for greed in the United Corporations of America where profitability is the law of the land.

Regarding that profitability it then only makes sense that Disney panders to everyone so that they can increase their profits.

Are you saying that Disney should only create products just for you and for everyone that looks like you and follows the same ideology as you?

Why would Disney or any other corporation limit their chances of profitability growth by doing something as asinine as that.

There's no way that Disney would have wanted the biggest news of D23 to be them losing Spider-Man. I wonder if they had an IS box set in the shape of Spidey's head all set to announce, lol.

People tend to hate on companies/personalities that dominate. When Apple lead the smartphone race, haters came out. When Google started leading search and online advertising, haters came out. When Lewis Hamilton won 4 out of the last 5 F1 WCCs, people started to hate on him too. Now Disney is dominating the entertainment industry, people are hating on Disney too.

It's not these companies'/people's faults that they are dominating. It's the failure of the competition to bring a good fight to them.

But people are going to hate.

I'm part of the skeptics towards Sony's capability to bring forward a good Spider-Man story but I'd be happy to be proven wrong. On the comment that Sony now knows the MCU's secret sauce, maybe they do. But it's one thing to know what that secret sauce is and it's a whole other thing to actually pull it off.

Have I somehow offended you personally? Sorry if I hit a sore spot somewhere.

Not sure why, but you seem to be taking my comment to the extreme. The topic at hand was Disney. And those that were annoyed with Sony must be Disney supporters. Which i responded as not so in my case. And we are talking about entertainment companies. Not drug companies and insurance companies and all greed in any corporation or business entity. I guess i should've stated poster children for greed in the non essential to life entertainment industry.

Do you know that one of the Disney heirs constantly shames Disney in the public eye over greed specifically over low wages.

Well I got news for her almost every corporation treats their non CEO sector in the same manner.

So does greed exist within Disney?s vast empire of course it does to some extent I mean how could it not in an entity that enormous. Of course entry level to mid level positions are under funded and under paid like duh that?s everywhere.

Does Disney use mafia tactics to strong arm theater chains for screen monopoly of course they do.

Welcome to Capitalism deal with it lol

And your whole pandering comment well if you are a white male you were specifically pandered to for decades upon decades by Hollywood so now they have decided that they can chew gum and walk at the same time so they?re now pandering to others as well while also still pandering to you.

As a white male myself i?m grateful for all of their pandering but I understand competition for disposable income is really tough so they?re going to use a bigger fishing net.

The question is why are you losing sleep over that.

I loose sleep over a lot of things. But certainly not over anything I discuss on a dolly and movie fan forum with people I will assuredly never actually meet in my life.

Thanks for the corporate lessons in profiteering and the history of this proud country we live in based on capitalism. I concede to whatever point you are trying to prove.

Good Day To You, Sir...

:duff

Now let's get back to Sony bashing that they think they can make a successful Spider-Man movie after Petey's worldwide beloved foray in the MCU under Master Feige's tutelage..

You know, this could be a good thing. Spider-Man was doomed to fail sooner or later. This way, you got a couple good movies and appearances. You can discount Sony... and long for the MCU days and pretend they would have went on forever. Maybe the MCU's next Spidey movie -- Spider-Man: No Home No Mo -- would have sucked anyway.

I'm surprised Disney didn't anticipate the Sony breakup and agreed to a six picture deal to begin with, giving them the option to give Spidey a trilogy, as oppose to an open ending with no conclusion. The fate of the MCU Spiderman's storyline is now in Sony's hand.

Now there will never ever be a bad MCU Spider-Man appearance.

So who is going for a FFH and Midsommar extended cut double feature this weekend lol

I love the Midsommar commercials they are like Come see Ari Asters unrated directors cut as if he is a household name lol

Spiderman is being sold as extended cut where Midsommar is directors cut.

I think Midsommar is now as long as EG.

I cult you 3000 :rotfl
