Re: Spud's Customs

Thanks guys, that means a lot. When I thought about doing Cracken I just went on eBay and searched 1/6 head sculpt and I think I went through like almost 10 pages. Haha Dustin Hoffman was the only one that was close. I'm happy to have Fox finally done, although while looking at the picture above I spotted a symmetry error that I need to go and fix because it will bug me forever if I don't.

Re: Spud's Customs

The more I delve into the nostalgia that is Battlefont, the more I want to do custom characters based on the player skins. I'm now considering a Clone Heavy trooper, which is essentially Bacara with a repaint, and the Clone 501st sniper. I think he'll be fun to repaint. Anyone looking to sell and Utapau Airborne trooper? haha

They were fun games. I had both for PS2. I have it on PC now but never play it since I can't stand the keyboard/mouse combo! Can't wait for the new one!

Re: Spud's Customs

I can die a happy man with the announcement of that Hot Toys Chewie and Han. :yess: :thud:

Here's a Rebel update. Got Cracken's pants switched out which looks a lot better. Then I finally got the shirt for my Yavin honor guard trooper. Then another fleet trooper. He's got a Tomy helmet which doesn't look bad when displayed like this.

Very cool Spud. :clap I really like the Honor Guard.

Re: Spud's Customs

The honor guard is awesome !!! More details please ...
Well let's see. The pants are some old Soldiers of the World pants that my brother had. They came with a shirt too but it was awful because of the huge neck opening. So I took those pants and got them wet and put the creases in them. Then I had to go hunting on ebay for a shirt to match. I found a pants and shirt set from a seller in Russia and they are modeled after Vietnam uniforms, but the shirt is actually in error because the breast pockets on a Vietnam shirt would be angled more. So I was happy to see this and knew it would work. The pants were also of the cargo variety with big pockets on each side but as luck would have it the color of the pants I already had matched quite well to the shirt. I've still got a little bit of work to do on the pocket flaps as they should come to a perfect point but for now the edges are just tucked under. The web belt is just modeled after a standard WWII/Korean War pistol belt that I also found on ebay. And the boots are Fleet Trooper boots.

The helmet was the hard part, and I'm still not completely sure I'm happy with the visor. For it, I traced a pattern on a clear plastic cup so it would already have the curve to it, then I cut it out and painted the inside of it black. So technically it should be tinted, but it achieves the look I'm going for. I've got a spare Fleet Trooper holster I may put on his belt but I don't know yet. I still have to finish the staff/pike as well. Right now its just a rough steel pipe.

So you built the helmet by yourself? Unbelievable !!! I think if one is skilled enough he is no longer dependent on expensive releases. He just requires plastic, a scalpel and a glue ... Can you post some more pics of the helmet?

Sure, I'll get some for you tonight. I didn't build the entire helmet, just the visor. The helmet itself is just from the Rebel Fleet trooper. :D

Re: Spud's Customs

I recognized his foul stench when I was approaching the mail box.
Holy crap this head sculpt and paint job is simply stunning. Scotty and Galactiboy you guys are awesome! A million thanks.

And in other news, things aren't looking good for Aayla.

Re: Spud's Customs

Tarkin is really a work of art. Glaticboy did a outstanding job on that!

Re: Spud's Customs

Here's my latest Rebel. Just finished her. Based off the Battlefront Rebel Marksman. I absolutely love the way she turned out. I hope my Leia can turn out just as good. Hope you guys like her. The first picture is on a Kumik body which is total garbage as far as poseability with a weapon is concerned because of the wrists and their lack of joints. So I swiped the Hit Girl body that I had for my Endor Leia and it is 100% better.
