Did your Vader arrive in tip top Sith condition?

Upon further examination I found that there is a drip of the dark metallic paint that goes on alternating surfaces of his helm, on the bridge of his nose. I have also discovered a little overflow of glossy black paint from his eye dribbled over to the dark metallic bottom eyelid of his left cheek on his "reveal" alternate mask.

Mine had two scuff in the helmet and some imperfections on the display helmet. I emailed SSC some pics. Plus, I finally understand what people mean by the crooked Anakin head. Mine is a bit off too but I ain't worried about it.

I received my Vader 5 days ago (Jan 29).

I immediately emailed Sideshow after discovering a broken left tusk, scuffed display dome and some very dodgy wiring on his belt.

After 3 days I received no reply.

I emailed them again.

24 hours later.

Still no reply.

Emailed them again last night.

Still no reply.

This is beyond ridiculous.

Are they honestly so swamped with emails regarding defective items that they can't reply to me?

My last email was addressed to their "exchange" address, their "customer service" address and to Dawn who seems to deal with all the orders.

Surely someone will get back to me soon...

Happy to report, mine seems to be flawless! No broken tusks, no fraying of the cape, Anakin head nice and straight (w/no bent breather tubes), no scuffs/chips/dents/etc., electronics work great and no stripped screws on the battery compartments. Absolutely happy with mine! Big relief too, I was worried after reading all the reports on here.

Got mine today and sure enough it has the two scuffs on the figure's helmet and broken left tusk. I saw the tiny broken tusk in the tray but it's impossible to reattach. :gah:

You could just IM. Or is that too expensive or too much of a waste of your valuable time from Australia?

I was just about to ask if anyone had heard back about having a crooked Anakin head replaced. Here's my answer. Good to see SSC is continuing their high level of customer service with this stuff.

My new reveal head arrived from SS this morning. The rebreathers are nice and straight but his eyes are off. One is straight and the other is pointing upwards.....hmmmmm what to do....what to do?

It's not really off by much.

Left tusk off - found it in packaging fortunately and was able to re-attach. Still love the figure, tho.

Replacement arrived today and it's perfect. Just like Sideshow's customer service. First time I've ever had to ask for a replacement and the process was so quick and easy.

I received my replacement Vader helmet. It was in much better shape than my original but still had scuff marks on the dome. Dabbed a little toothpaste on it and all of the spots buffed out. Ended up polishing the whole thing to even out the shine. Looks perfect now.

Received my replacement Anakin head and cape today. The head is still crooked and the paint job & sculpting are not as nice, but at least he is not crossed eyed. The cape still have some fraying, but not as bad as the original.
The original crossed-eyed head is on the top. Which one should I destroy?

You have to wonder what the heads and cape manufacturing ratio is compared to the rest of the figure. Do they drop any head in the box or has the heads that people get passed through the quality inspection? The crooked stuff can't be due to bad packaging. Odds are that most are so bad in general that these are the ones the factory thought they could get away with. It stands to reason that the replacements are checked out to be good at least at the factory but they probably aren't. :(

This is going to be a thriller when the rest of the world starts to get theirs and have to deal with the local sellers - as I have been told by my seller is the normal way of doing things - that don't have all the readily available replacement parts that Sideshow has. I have a good feeling about the seller so I will buy it there then we will see.

Received mine today and I avoided the most common mistakes for the most part. My cape was fine, both tusks were present, and the dome was perfect. My anakin head was crooked. My belt did not light up. And yes I removed the plastic and double checked the batteries. And third, the little hook on the shoulder armor that holds the cape chain was broken off and fell on the floor right when I took him out and stood him up. I just filled out the exchange form on SSC's website and asked for replacements for all 3 items. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon.

So are most people reporting issue with the exclusives that came direct frm Sideshow or the regular versions purchased from dealers?? Mine arrives from an AD this week.
