Got my replacement helmet from SS and it's in way worse shape than the first one :lol It's covered in scuff marks and scratches. Luckily i didn't have to smash the first one.

So after you submit the online exchange form, how long has it taken for you guys to get a reply? I was told 2-4 days but want to know if they are holding true to that time frame. Does SSC just send you an email stating they are sending out the replacement parts?

I got an email reply today. I submitted a claim just 4 days ago.

"We apologize for the problems regarding your damaged Darth Vader Head. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have not received our full allotment of replacements to satisfy the exchange requests received for this piece."

You are given two choices: (1) get on the waitlist or (2) get a full refund.

Mine just arrived, but I wont be getting home until later. I'm very anxious to see what kind of shape it's in. As bad as it sounds, if the dome and electronics are good then I'm cool. I can live with the cape frayed, wonky anakin portrait, and tusks being messed up I think.

I do have two questions though.

1. I bought mine of evilbay, since I cancelled my pre-order w/Sideshow last year. Would I be able to get a replacement part be it paid for or otherwise if needed?

2. The QC poll doesn't indicate... are most of the issues being found with the first exclusive run or the regular edition as well? Just curious.

I got mine today from sideshow and I do not notice anything wrong . His helmet and face tusk looks perfect . Thank god ! I haven't really played around with him at all yet but this figure felt and looks like a Hot Toys quality collectible . It's that good . A very nice weight to it also . I really surprised and it put a smile right on my face . I hope sideshow can keep it up because there on the right track in my opinion .

Mine arrived with a defective belt (wouldn't light up). After contacting them, and describing the problem they sent a new chestbox and belt AND an extra body with jumpsuit. ??? I guess I'll have to call again tomorrow.

It's been over 4 days now since I sent an online exchange form with pictures. I haven't been contacted at all yet.

About an hour after I posted my question above, I got a reply from SSC. They said they are mailing me a new Anakin head, shoulder armor, and belt which should be mailed within 7-10 days. Once I receive the parts and if I find them acceptable, I am to send them pics of my destroyed items.

On a related note, is the belt easy to swap out? Meaning there aren't crazy wires anywhere or anything like that? I'm assuming I just have to take the head off, remove the shoulder armor (which I will be doing anyway), and then remove the belt and pack that run inside the tunic? Does that sound right?

Sadly my Vader arrived in the same condition as many of yours. Both tusks broken on helmeted dome, scratches and imperfections on both domes, chest box unglued from straps, and frayed cape. As much as I want to enjoy this figure I just can't with all the issues.

I'm very disappointed in Sideshow right now.

I have to say sideshow is been very fast to deliver my replacement..when I have open the box, I have found an helmet head with a missing tusk, ..scratches and scuffs on the display head..and a frayed cape...now I have got... a new perfect cape..and..this...
ahahahahah WTF..

I'm not in anger with sideshow they are been so fast and at the end I have my tusk (I've taken it from the new amazing helmet head)

but all this is so funny...

Anyone here with a scuffed or scratched helmet that has been replaced wanna sell it to me? Gotta have both tusks though. I'm in California.

You know, I missed out on the EX so now I'm waiting to save maybe a little money on retail... but man, with all these issues, and now SS running low or maybe out of good replacement parts, I'm very nervous of getting this figure now. If I buy outside of Sideshow I could really be you-know-what... and if I buy from Sideshow direct, there still seems to be a lot of problems now.

Hopefully they will get restocked with this 2nd wave/regulars. But because of all this, I'm now seated on the sidelines. Put my reward points toward Grievous instead of this. Quite simply, this many problems should not be happening.

Smart thinking IMO Wor-Gar, I'm that very situation now and it sucks. Damaged Vader, no return option, and seriously wishing I had my $$$ back to put towards anything else. :monkey4

Buying outside of SSC might be a good idea if you can pick it up at a LCS. Don't know how others work, but mine will only allow one to buy a SSC or HT figure after examining it and signing-off that it's in good shape (they don't take returns on 1:6 stuff, at all).

In regards to Sideshow, though, I wouldn't be worried about replacement parts at this point. Sure, they blew through their initial allotment, but they've said that they're expecting another shipment in the next week or two, right? As long as this figure is actively in production, replacement parts are not an issue. They can make as many as they want at the moment dirt cheap. I'd only worry about it later, once the run's complete.

My LCS overcharges like crazy. Not an option.

And I do agree, SS will get plenty more replacement parts... I just didn't want to sit on a figure that was going to bother me for the next couple weeks. Of course, Grievous' fragility could be an even bigger nightmare possibly.

Bought mine in a store and they allowed me to open the box and inspect before buying. Found no major issues, just tiny fraying on parts of the cape. So I was happy. The store just got their shipment in, so I wonder if later batches have improved? I feel for others who have had issues. SS really dropped the ball on the quality for the reported issues.
