What made you think they based the pose from that pic? I always thought that they based this figure off the SS/W pose, because that one did not sport a cloak either.

On another note, the new angled view makes his pose a bit stiff-looking, hardly natural. I guess I know which side to pose him with then.

I have to admit, with Legolas PF now upon us, a Gimli to complete the 3 hunters would certainly be welcome. Unless they do what they did to the 12" line, and leave Gimli out . . .

Additionally, I was thinking whether I should be a Fellowship completist by snagging a Frodo or GTW. The thought of GTW's ice cream beard, and Frodo's non-EJ look just persuades me otherwise.

Looks like the sculpt will be pretty good all round!

The only gripe I have is the Moria base. It's been done before (twice), and to be honest I see Legolas as a character who should have a forest/wood type base what with being an Elf. Admittedly it's only a very small gripe and it's just my opinion but hey

Its great to see Sideshow trying to make the EX not so Exclusive so that those that dont get it will be happy with the regular versions. (sarcasm complete) ok WTF I thought Ex was just that, a special unique item you cant live without.... and having the Ex was the crown jewel. It seems Sideshow is lacking on the WOW factor of the EX's and are just throwing any old crap on a base just to call it Ex. Well I will get this regardless the fact, but it is disappointing to see the EX's take a nosedive to ordinary, instead of extraordinary that they used to be.

SS has always been hit or miss when it comes to excl's. I would hardly call the GTW and Aragorn excl's "must have" either. IMO of the 6 PF's featuring excl's produced so far only 3 have had what I would call "must have" excl's.....Lurtz, MO, and the Berserker.

No doubt the GTW excl. looks better than the reg., I just don't think of it in terms of "must have". Perhaps it has something to do with the fact I don't consider the PF itself to be all the great in the first place.

I personally have no desire at all for a Legolas statue, in the books he was a fantastic Elf, but in te films they made him a 2D smart arse surfer dude just there for girly appeal, He was too overdone for my liking, and so far iv not been too impressed with the Likenesses of the human characters from the film, (though a Gimli wouldbe good, as there wouldnt be TOO much detail on the face)
I know everyone wants a complete fellowship, but I would love to see more random characters, like a Rohirrim, or a Numenorean, their clothing would be amazing IMO.

Thats the problem though, he played off Gimli, but in doing so they made Gimli out to be stupid and clumsy, he was comic relief throughout, when really he was a brave and noble dwarf.

Hmmm, well they already have the pattern and the leaf clasp from the Aragorn PF...They should just make more of those...it's a no-brainer IMO!

Hold off on declaring this as a great likeness! The Aragorn PF was a great likeness, until they showed pics of production rolloffs, then that equation went out the window. I don' want to prematurely declare something a great likeness until in-hand pics! Too many "great sculpt" comments have been ruined by lousy paint apps.
