Re: Rogue PF

As a matter of fact, I would have loved for the Cyclops PF to be in his original suit.

The Kirby costume?

I'd rather see the line reflect modern styles myself. If they made Kirby pieces, I'd want them to nail it every time.

Re: Rogue PF

I would get this rogue PF in a heartbeat! Can't wait. And, regardless of what everyone else thinks, Jim Lee's run on x-men sealed the deal for me, and I have been a fan of the x-titles since then!

Oops, my mind slipped on that one. :monkey1

I meant the Cockrum/Smith/Byrne costume.

Welcome to the madness!!!

Re: Rogue PF

X-Tinction Agenda? Rogue/Magneto Savage Land? Introduction of Gambit and child Storm run? Wolverine, Jubilee, and the Reavers? The first few issues of the new X-Men run where they confronted the Avalon and Magneto's Acolytes? :dunno
Those are all classic, great X-Men stories that didn't just respin ideas. :nana: The only thing from Jim Lee's X-Men run that sucked was the rebirth of Psylocke/Revanche.

Wow! Im surprised at the Jim Lee bashing. I Think his era, though short was alot of fun. Great comics need art and writing. Jim Lee defined the X Men for a period and spread the popularity of comics into other medians like cards, cartoons and video games. The X Men were everywhere during his time. Sad to say he also nearly marked the end of an era. The comic industry almost went bust after he left. I was very dissapointed when shifting to age of apocolypse and phalanx covenant. The Jim lee era captured the X Men at the height of their popularity and I think he is a terrific choice to base a PF line after.

Re: Rogue PF

I'd like to think the X-Men's influence is timeless, and I'd find the line far more interesting it we didn't know what era, which artist, would stand as the inspiration for the next piece. To glorify one small era, the line is quickly disregarding the brilliant history that lead to the Jim Lee era, and even though that appeals to fans that were strongly influenced by that one era, it ultimately alienates the larger X-Men community.

I would guess that the "larger X Men community" would be excited to have a Jim Lee based line. I do think the X men influence is timeless. I would not let this particular line discourage anyone. SS is already doing an astonishing line and it is very likely they will revisit other styles in the future. Jim Lee era is a great choice because it is a very inclusive time period. Everyone was in the X Men. The further back you go, Byrne, Cockrum, Kirby etc the fewer X Men there were. That would make the line more alienating and elitist. I still think Jim is a good choice and I would not personally trust sideshow to design some sort of all time inspring costumes. There would be uproar if they attempted considering the great artistic history there is with the X Men. The Jim Lee era brought alot of people together.

Re: Rogue PF

I think Dios would be a great way to honor the forefathers of the X Men. I would spend good money on a X Men 136 or 137 Byrne cover from the Phoenix story line.

Re: Rogue PF

I have a feeling it will be the best female pf so far.
I'm gonna go ahead and agree with Ben on this one. I think that from the little that's been shown so far, it would be nearly impossible to screw it up. Possible, yes. But difficult beyond comprehension.
This will be my first female PF :impatient:
My second, wvg! D. Talon was my foist. :)
