:lecture As I pointed out, this piece suffers from much more serious issues than horrid paintjob. The mold on the REG head has somehow been altered to look like Nicolas Cage in drag :slap

It doesnt look like that in person. That something up with the camera doing something with the geometry because its so close probably. Again Im not one of the people making excuses for this piece, but mine doesnt look like that in person. Not even close.

It's an upgrade over what we got. Removing the eye shadow makes her look like a person....

The most frustrating aspect of life: people standing together and actually doing something about an issue that needs to be resolved. Unfortunately, it's human nature to avoid confrontation. Many seem content with spending 300 and then going and spending another 100 to get repainted. It's almost like some have gotten used to accepting poor quality to where they almost expect to custom mod the piece. That certainly doesn't help those of you with legitimate issues and doesn't encourage SSC's to do any better in the future. If you are b___g and moaning on here and saying you are going to contact SSC or send it back, DO IT. Otherwise, stop complaining and get used to this kind of issue.

:goodpost: It's a snowball effect, if they know they can get away with it the next X-man will get even worse. I guess we deserve it to some extent for accepting Cyclop's 2nd head. It's good to at least call or email to complain if you're unsatisfied with it, plus you can even get some free credit off it.

These QC issues seem to affect Sideshow's Marvel statues more often then the statues from their other licenses.

We are all on a 5 Day wait from SS. So it prob means they got way more calls about this debacle then they are saying.

So once the 5 days are up, we should know if things are being replaced or just refunded.

They have always quoted that there is about a week turnaround on CS issues. That is nothing new.

Like I said before, I really wanted the EX but missed out. Then, before this, I was debating on the REG. But I don't know now. And honestly, I don't have to have this in hand to comment on it, since I was/still am considering the REG and this thread is providing me the info to make that decision. (Sorry, this wasn't to you, but another poster.)

Believe me I've heard it enough to know that it's protocol statement they have to say when making a call for a return or exchange. We all probably won't hear from them until tomorrow or Friday that's usually how it works, and then about another week before you actually receive your replacement, if you don't live somewhere near by.

Yeah pretty much. The 5 day turnaround thing is standard so far from all my dealings with them, except for my IM maquette replacement where I had to wait for a whole new batch to be made. :slap

Yeah, it's a good informative thread (aside from some detractors who don't belong here). I think there may be Exes available for 2nd chance after this fiasco tho.

Don't think I'd go for an EX now. I am hoping that the REG's are painted differently. It just pisses me off that the first SSC's X-Men I was considering I first missed and now looks to be a disaster and still waiting to see if the REG is any better, but by time the in hand photos are out, it likely will be sold out...even with this painting disaster since most people are all talk about what they are willing to do to send a message of displeasure back to the company.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see if people actually act on this. Still, I think a few will go up for 2nd chance with this many bad cases out. I've never seen so many bad pics on this forum for a long time.

I wonder if it's that bad that Sideshow will have another batch of both portraits done. Now that for sure would have everyone singing Sideshow praises again.

I think if enough complaints and returns happen they may. I hope they do. They did another batch of IM maquette for the chins but I'm not sure if they just took that from the huge Reg batch.

I dont know about that. They increased the run to 1500 now on the normal. Which I think might be related to them expecting some returns on the EX. But, that only makes sense if the normals are being painted differently.

I guess my point is 1500 is a pretty large run and a lot of people (like myself) cancelled the normal pre order. So I bet your chances of getting one after its shipped and pics are up is very good.

I think this is the best thing we can hope for but it wont happen unless more people complain. Call SS email. All of you! Even if you are keeping it please let them know you arent happy. Its really the only shot at another run IMO.

Problem with a certain number of people not being able to call SS and complain. People who did pre orders thru ebay, or other companies who dont have a return policy etc...

So SS cant really say not everyone is calling in, cause there has to be at least 100-200 people who are stuck with a item that cant be returned.

Just a thought im throwing out there.
