Tell me when has Sideshow ever left their customers hanging and not offered resolutions? No one at Sideshow is telling anyone to just move on or saying that it's not that bad and to deal with it. They offer 100% customer satisfaction.
:eekHoly ____ that is _____ awesome! If only the end product is remotely close to the prototype count me in!
cough....unless it is the Indy PF jacket flaking apart...cough....Iron Man life size bust..cough...
That's a hyperbolic caricature served to illustrate a point.
You're absolutely right about SS' great money back guaranty unless fully satisfied But you haven't addressed problems such as SS' deceptive marketing tactics (hiding the changes in in the sculpt from the website and not notifying consumers about said changes from the prototype displayed at Comicon, until after the EX statue was sold out) or the fact that many of the subpar end products ended up passing SS' "stringent" quality control testing and awarded the QC seal of approval?
I have no doubt that Sideshow will be having some serious discussions with the factory that makes these. Their shoddy work and lack of QC hurts Sideshow as a company.
Perhaps this will force Sideshow to take more trips to China to personally inspect products and oversee the staff there are following their guidelines.
I understand everyone's frustration and I am sure Sideshow is not happy about this either. The main problem lies with the factory though and hopefully something can be done about that. I just don't know how many competitors there are out there that could produce and paint large quantity pieces. I know this factory also makes the pieces for other companies like Weta. (or at least they did last time I checked). That is part of the problem with having factories over seas..you lose a lot of control over the finished product...but then if they were in the states, the price point would probably be much higher.
I agree something needs to be done...but I think before we totally rake Sideshow over the coals...we should wait and hear what solution they come up with.
The money on the loss that Sideshow will endure should send them a message of what they did wrong on the product.
I'm going to say it again, the overhead for a full repaint on this many pieces would be worse than giving everyone who is dissatisfied a full refund.
Your best hope is that the Regs that are coming are better since they are aware of the problems with the first run.
I love it when you talk like Bruce Banner. lol

Also Skiman already mentioned this but seeing as where this discussion keeps going. People who haven't ordered or don't really have no interest in this particular product in the 1st place. You DO have the right to voice your opinion but if you would just continue throwing fuel to the fire that's already burning out of control, please just move the ____ on.
Really? Now we are being a bit over dramatic.

I think the question is how many of these are messed up. Do they need to start again from scratch with new heads or figure out something else? if you are not happy with your piece - let them know. They will take care of you. As I mentioned earlier...you know you will at least get your money back but hopefully you will also have other options.

Why? No one is throwing fuel on the fire. People on the fence, like myself, that would like the REG, are actively participating in this thread as we care and what SSC does directly impacts what we do in regards to ordering the REG.
I agree the Indy jacket wasn't the best resolution with just a $20 refund...but I thought they offered full refunds for the Iron Man bust?
The wife must of slip the serum into my protein shake this morning.
Ha ha ha!!
Am I doing ok then with my Tony Stark voice!

I think if you want perfection, you have to get someone like John here to do a kick butt custom paint job for you. But what people dont want to do is pay the cost associated with that! Most of the custom work/paint jobs are $1K plus!
Now I am not saying we should get crap for the $300.00 but to expect a perfect statue is just not going to happen. Am I right?
Costs are going up and our expectations are going even higher. As a collector I totally get that, but you got to also know that what you are buying here is a mass produced collectable and not a one of or a custom paint job.
Now all that stuff about false advertisement as things, is not for me to comment as I am perfectly happy with the changes to the rear. The eyes placement is a little off but mine wasnt bad enough to warrant a return
Right now after a few days of having her in my X-man collection,
I only can blame the factory for sub par paint work!
