Re: Rogue

They change the pics from the proto pics to the production pics on every piece as it ships or just before. Them doing this with the Rogue piece isn't something uncommon. So people complaining about pic changes really IMO have no argument because this isn't an uncommon event.

Now, people who got a statue with the eyes having an issue should be asking (like an adult) about something being done. That is more than fair because the eyes do mess up the overall look of this piece. The pics I've seen of the behind still look good. Them not having the full buttcrack IMO aren't a big deal because it still looks good.

The only other change that I remember was with the Black Cat LSB color eyes. It didn't change the fact that on BC, the paint job was still excellent. The Rogue change of pics went from great to being sub-par. IMO, it's a complete joke.

Agree to disagree
Whether it looks good or not, it's not what SS showed on the site, it's not what they displayed an the con and it's not what people thought they were getting when they clicked buy and were charged an NRD, and SS knows it.
IMO product was intentionally misrepresented

Ummmm no. They rarely change pics.

Ok :lol

The pics they changed to which as I said they do all the time has nothing to do with the fact some folks have gotten ones with messed up eyes.

The pics on the site where proto pics (which always say subject to change), and what they had at the Con was a proto which it said there. Thats the case with almost every item at the con that its a proto piece or early production sample.

As far as intentionally misrepresented and other claims like this are totally uncalled or and unjust unless you all actually have proof.

On the paint job, I don't think it was misrepresented, on the butt sculpted yes! The QC was not "checked" and since this was a bigger issue then they intended to be, they did the switcheroo pic. IMO they should had went back to the factory; sucked up the cost; and replace all the heads that people are legitimately complaining about.

By them switching pics, this will eliminately cost of replacing the heads. All the returns will just go to another WLister or buyer.

On the butt, I thought they should had announced the change before sending these out.

SSC screwed up big time. Changing or not resolving the problem just made it worst.

Re: Rogue

We as a collecting community know that LFL has requested companies making products to make changes, and they have no choice to do so if they want to keep making items. Do we know for sure that on the butt issue that Marvel/Disney didn't ask for this? It is something to take under consideration.

Re: Rogue

My LCS friend with whom I share this account with has received his Sideshow Rogue PF and has no real complaints thus far, but he hasn't taken her out of the box yet :D

Re: Rogue

I think the last one that I seen them, and it wasn't for Marvel. The Hitman PF; and, the tie was the big issue on that during the '09 con, but after it was released it was the proper color tie and SSC changed the photo then. Remember when the Spider-man LSB was first shown. They showed that LSB with raised lines, but quickly changed that proto photo within days after it had been previewed.

Exactly it is super rare. The Spider-Man LSB was previewed with raised webbing but when it was revealed it was indented. So in a way they never showed a full gallery of Spidey with raised webbing. For the changes I've seen they were all before the product was released. With Rogue they didn't change the pics until all the complaints started coming in. And for Nightcrawler they gave collectors a heads up in the newsletter that the coloring was changed.

Yeah I remember when that happened, it changed from the sneak to the product gallery. That's why it happens so rarely that people sit up and take notice when it does.

Re: Rogue

Fremen, you have any close ups on the eyes of your Rogue?

Here's a closer one of my Disney Rogue.

I only restore and paint dragons. I'm not a face painter and this was my first ever try and probably my last. I did not find it easy and yes, I know the eyes are too big but I do like it better.

Re: Rogue

They very rarely don't change the pics on a product page from the proto piece to the production piece when it ships. :dunno

P.S. Josh this is the argument that I want you to defend with proof this time. I apologize for the previous comment if you prove me wrong.

Re: Rogue

Nah, they have to be fair no matter what, there was nothing wrong with that post whatsoever.

uhm... as you said, they might change the pictures as it ships or just before, but that wasn't the case with rogue, they changed it when the ____storm of complaints came
whatever the reason, it's just not done to change something and not inform the buyers of that fact
we're still getting something that is totally different than what we pre-ordered and was advertised on numerous occasions

edit: not to mention that the paint application is one of the worst I've seen so far (counting not only SS pieces)

The Aragorn Maquette pics were changed, Darth Maul with mechanical legs, and and the Stalker 1:6th figure from GI Joe. Now, I will say you're correct they don't do it on every piece but when something goes from proto piece pending licensor approval to nothing there like that. This is the indicator folks should look for.

Anyways, thats enough OT from me in this thread.

Re: Rogue

Respectfully, it does seem on track to me, it's about Sideshow's record of changing pics and whether do they it consistently after products have shipped and customers have it in hand, which is what happened on Rogue.

I'm not talking about that, Fuzzy.
