Re: Rogue

Respectfully, it does seem on track to me, it's about Sideshow's record of changing pics and whether do they it consistently after products have shipped and customers have it in hand, which is what happened on Rogue.

Let it go bro they are cracking the whip this Sunday morning...:lecture

Re: Rogue

from what Ive noticed they seem to typically update the galleries with production pics sometime around the shipment of each piece with the time varying a little, I assume depending on their workload/scheduling as far as how quickly its done.
If you want production pics posted for every piece prior to shipping, them let them know thats what you want. Just be sure to not cry if the pics are awesome and they sit on shipping the product out intentionally waiting to make sure everybody has seen the updated pics.

Example: its possible people wouldn't have that kickass Vampirella in-hand yet waiting for this process to run its course, but everyone would know SS has the product and is intentionally not shipping them yet.

Re: Rogue

The Aragorn Maquette pics were changed, Darth Maul with mechanical legs, and and the Stalker 1:6th figure from GI Joe. Now, I will say you're correct they don't do it on every piece but when something goes from proto piece pending licensor approval to nothing there like that. This is the indicator folks should look for.

Anyways, thats enough OT from me in this thread.

They also changed Neytiri's pictures. I remember the outcry when people saw the new pics posted. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few people cancelled. We got to see the lack luster production paint before she shipped. AND it was just to see the paint. Why Sideshow sat and never posted new pics of Rogue, especially after changing the sculpt.....boggles me.

Sideshow did say that they didn't received any factory samples for Rogue, why they wouldn't follow through on getting them....I have no idea. Shows that they aren't concerned about their product anymore, but more about the $$$. It is very clear that there was no QC on this piece.

The removal of the proto pics after all the complaints is kind of cheap on their part.

This is my first official "dud" and she will be my last. This better not happen to Lara, Vampi or Joker, if it does...I am done with SS. Their prices are getting ridiculous, especially for pieces of this quality.

I only have one thing to say about all of this.

I couldn't agree More with your Statements; Black Queen, I made similar comments over at SF, I would like add this is all Very Underhanded removing the prototype pic's and pretty much telling us this is what you ordered, BS.

Re: Rogue

If they left the prototype pics up while shipping something that did not look like the prototype, would that be underhanded? Second, do you think they knew the eyes were as bad as they were and assumed that no one would lose their minds over it?

Just curious.

IMO, had they changed the pics prior to shipping, and emailed everybody that purchased with an option to cancel explaining the changes, that would have changed the mentality a great deal. Sure, people would still be upset, but at least they couldn't say SS was shady about it.

I would say Yes to the 1st question and on the 2nd question that would be Very Arrogant on there behalf to assume that.

When changes are made they should notify all the people that modification was made (butt resculpt). An option should had been giving before shipping.

On the paint mess on the eyes, that's what QC are for! This is just a cop out by SSC saying that they weren't giving a sample before shipping.

And if they did not think that the minor change to the crack of her ass was significant enough to warrant the reaction people are having to it? This is assuming that Marvel/Disney did in fact require the change. What if it was not an intentional change, and just more lax work by the factory?

I would say Yes to the 1st question

So they changed it, drawing explicit attention to the changes, and they're still underhanded?

Have they demonstrated that level of 'arrogance' in the past, or have they always owned up to their mistakes to the extent that they could financially maintain?

Again, the modification was extremely slight. In the past, they regularly updated production pics as product was shipping. It was standard practice that production pieces would be different from prototypes, and prototype pictures were always identified as subject to change.

And you know that they weren't deceived by the factory? Perhaps they had good reason to trust them enough to not require a sample. You have seen Vampirella, have you not? Clearly the factory workers were aware of the crap they were sending to California. I highly doubt that the suits at SSC knew, since they know by now how vocal and particular their clientel are. This is not the first time these things have happened and they are savvy enough to understand the pitfalls of sending out something no one will want.

These are details, but my larger point is that there is a huge amount of assumption underlying the dominant opinion in this thread.
