Looks great, although it does seem Sideshow did that weird brown outline around his eyes like they did on Yavin... I think that really contributes to the ghost stare.

I noticed that same dark line on Anakin and took some watered down flesh tone acrylic paint and just dripped it on his eyes letting it run into the eye creases to lighten it up a little. Then if it leave a haze over the eye you can just dampen a q-tip and wipe the eye clean.

This is the brown line we are referring to. Its not the eye liner, like Anakin. It is a Blue outline around the blue retina.

It isn't as bad on this Luke, but it is there.

But yeah, I am really excited to get him anyway. I haven't anticipated a figure like this for a while.

Oops. Sorry my mistake. I see what you mean but I could only imagine it being an issue if you were really looking up close. On average when the figure is on display I wouldn't think it would be as noticable.

Thanks for those pics paulcarson. If SSC ever decides to ship my Luke I'll definitely be using them as customizing references.

The ouline around the lids and iris isn't a huge issue, but it just takes a little bit away from the look of the figure. And its odd since I can't find any other Sideshow figures in which they have done this?

Or at least where it's so obvious.

Ok the paint job isn't as bad as I feared, but I will need to get the eyes redone for sure.

My quick review (besides the eyes). I was really pleased that the lightsaber is not just the Anakin saber recasted. It is a replica of the actual prop so the paint job on it is a bit different and has subtle differences from the ROTS saber. There is a little nub on the saber that falls off really carefully. So beware. I had to super glue mine in place.

The costume is great, water treatment and tape woudn't hurt it though... It could especially use some cotton in the thigh area because he does suffer from the Jedi Luke hip sybdrome.

I am bothered that with his shirt off, the body skin is colored differently than the head and hands, but I can live with that.

I would give it 3 1/2 stars over all.

For me, the eyes are the most important element of a figures likeness. :lecture

And in any artwork. Eyes are the most defining element of the human face and the most critical element to producing a successful portrait. If you don't get the eyes right to the most minute detail, it doesn't matter how well you do everything else, the likeness will be off. Everytime I draw a portrait, I star with the eyes and work on them until they're right, then I move onto the rest. Even the eye sculpts can be right but if the paint isn't done right the sculpt work is in vain. As for the brown, I don't care about it, what bothered me on Yavin Luke's eyes was the lack of gloss and the purity of the white, too bright, shiny teeth white, not the more realistic greyish they usually feature.

Holy Cow in this PIC Bespin Luke looks so freaking awesome and Sculpt dead on, however in the other pics where the profile changes or different angles The sculpt does not look so good.
As a matter fact if nobody had posted any other pics and the one above was the only one, Id be SOOO sold on this rather being on the fence at the moment about this Luke...

oops one more pic:

In this shot, the Yavin luke looks great also, (But not so much Bespin). Your camera flatter these Luke sculpts.
I own the Yavin Luke so Im not sure why Im loving your Luke more then mines, based off that pic.
