Sad day for me. Ive had my wife waiting at home all day for my package cause it says it was out for delivery. On my train commute home I tracked the package on my iphone and seen that it was delivered at 7:55pm. So I called my wife and she proceeded to tell me she was sitting on the deck in front of my house waiting and no package had been delivered. When I check the UPS sitethe status says left with man. Isnt there supposed to be a signature required? I immediately called UPS and they were really no help at all. They told me they could not help me till they heard from Sideshow first. I sent Sideshow an email but will have to wait till tomorrow to hear anything.

I always feared this day would happen with a Sideshow package. Maybe its just me but I cant stand that Sideshow ships out our exspensive collectibles with the name of the product on both sides of the box. It can be very tempting for a thief. Not saying this is exactly what happened to me and my box could have been misdelivered somewhere else. But still, I know Im not getting it back wherever it went. Either way I hope Sideshow will be able to help me out. :monkey2

Great news! There are some honest people in the world! My wife just called me and told me that someone that lives on the opposite side of my block came and returned the package unopened!!! He said it was delivered to him last night and he waited for today to return it. So all is well. CANT WAIT TO GET HOME!!!!:yess::yess:

This figure is tough to photograph unless you have a nice set up going. At least thats how I look at it for what thats worth.

He needs a more shadowy effect to get the creepiness going but for me I don't really care for that style. I want to see the details of the piece not see them hidden by shadows.

Better than washing the details out by using flash...:lol

Congrats, man! Nice to see that story had a happy ending!

My point is, many want this figure, for example, to look just like McDiarmid in the movie. While the official shot show off details well, they don't show off how with futzing the robe can look like on screen and they don't show off the accurracy of the sculpt as well as a shot mirroring the ROTJ lighting. You need bot, but with the likeness retentive collector base that's taking over the hobby, I think showing the maximum film accurracy is key to keeping orders in a competitive market.

I think personally that can be done with having to make things all pretty. Sorry I just do. I've seen many shots here on many pieces without doing the whole mood lighting. Thats not to say matching him up with scenes from the movie is a bad thing. Its very neat to look at. Its just not a selling point to me and I don't think so for most collectors.

I said I didnt care for my inside shots.:slap I've also never said I was a great photographer. I like most of my shots and do what I feel like is a pretty decent job for a hack phtographer.

How many months did the exclusive one take to sell out? Gotta say, this is my first truly 'love/hate' figure. On one hand he looks great. On the other, he is ewok size..........he really looks like he was designed for the Medicom scale.

My comment wasn't directed towards you so much as just in general. Flash just kills details especially with the color of the flesh on the Emperor.

They have never accepted paypal so you should have known that and looked into other payment options.

lol I never ordered from them directly because I never had need for the exclusives. + don't stray away from the subject. Paypal is like, awesome. It's needed, and sideshow needs to adjust to MY needs. :lol

besides, I bet there's other people here on the boards that would prefer paying with paypal over Creditcards.

I know but never really sure if I wanted him---plus I am trying to cut back big time on expenses.

Well it's either get him now or pay more later when it goes up in price. But if trying to cut back do what you need to do.

You can get a Paypal debit card. It's a Mastercard that draws on your Paypal balance. You can use it like a regular credit card and also withdraw your Paypal funds directly from an ATM. :yess:

The more I look at this figure, the more I'm enjoying the regular head sculpt. It's really good at capturing the essence of the evil Sith Lord. It's expected to see him snarling with fury and the exclusive head renders that well, but the basic expression draws me in more. Really well done!

The outfit is well rendered too...it reminds me of some of the Jedi robes in that you can really "sculpt" and position the material well on the figure and the texture is just right for the scale.

Folks are posting some really good shots of him in here...I'll add more later myself.

And Josh....from one "hack photographer" to another...I like your shots...they always focus on the figure more than creating poses or recreating film stills...all of those shots can be cool to look at, but it's always good to see some pics that just push the figure "warts and all" to the front and center....and where would a Sideshow Freaks photo thread be without that infamous doily? Pretty dull if you ask me.....
