Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF
Well they at least said "Leave the cape it will just denote movement"
I am not saying that that was not the intent.
I just really think that the pose and the shape of the cape look like he was getting ready to throw his baterang. So it makes me think that perhaps long ago the intent was to have whole removable arm but then they decided to cover whole item in cloth and not just sculpt (Like Lantern). They could have made the statue just an arm overhead pose but that would have taken up to much space for many collectors and made a giant sized box for SS. Everything else was already sculpted so they just went with the arm down and rested.
I mean you can't really even see the baterang in the EX. So it seems rather unthought out.
I get the whole dynamic movement. I just think if that is the case he sort of missed it a bit as it looks a little unnatural.
I am sure I am wrong but would not be surprised if I am right somewhere in there.
Of course I am aware that this could all change once I get it in hand.
Look what happened with the Hulks Eyebrows
I think the billowing cap was done to denote movement. Batman is either stepping up onto the Gargoyle or the wind is billowing and pushing the cape up a bit. Canale does some amazingly dynamic poses, so I think the placement of the leg with the twist of the torso and pelvis (which is a ***** to depict by the way) helps to have more dynamic movement. That sense of movement is one of the things I love about this one.
