Hey I don't know what you guys are getting but here is what I paid for and expect to get. Not sure which one you guys paid for. Where did they sell that one. Clearly they ripped off the idea from SSC.

I will wait for mine to make my full judgment, but as if now, Im pretty pissed about the armpit, specially after a year & a half of waiting. Does this really not noticeable in person that SS QC team decided to pass it, or the usual trademark laziness.

Actually it is the best excuse. Look at ivy, look at rogue I'll take my chances with piss poor tailoring over a sloppy paint job any day. So don't oh please me. My preference, my figs. What's the big deal?

I actually wonder what it takes/pays to get a QC job at Sideshow - I'm not thrilled in my current job and I wouldn't mind seeing the world - maybe they need a collector yelling at them "Are you ****ing kidding me? Get that fabric further up those armpits or you'll be getting a wedgie further up your ***!"

It shows a lack of any care about the product by the production team. I don't blame the chinese workers they have no understanding of the source material nor able the grasp the presentation - just replicate as directed.

It's sideshow's American production team, I am sure they all know the character inside out as well as what makes a good statue, but they just don't care. It really is a shame, you have the sculpt, paint, and costumes all spent countless hours to create the perfect product, yet the final step - production team just didn't care.

I mean before you get the factory workers to mass produce over 10k of those, shouldn't you at least look over the production samples for obvious issues, those are not tiny nitpicks but glaring flaws. Anyone can see it especially if it's your professional job....it all comes down to they just don't care and in one shot destroy the works of every artist who worked on this.

I wonder if they read this board....probably not..why would they care what the customers think if they couldn't even be bothered with the product itself.

At least with the paint app you can get that redone. Good luck finding a decent tailor who can work on small statues. And I presented you great exampkes of fully sculpted and great painted statues. Saying you want cheap cloth because it prevents a half assed paint job says something depressing about the hobby.

I hear ya Jaws, a lot of people are willing to accept a flawed piece for 400 bucks... maybe they have too much coin. He looks pretty average to me and like he should be $150.00. In more positive news, Mary Jane turned out stellar. She looks beautiful. Bats deserved FAR better. He's pretty average imo but there are always people on these threads who sadly think Sideshow can do no wrong, even when it's absolutely clear that they have.

When has this argument ever actually applied to the final product? They almost always look worse than those perfectly air brushed and masterfully crafted promotional pieces. No one should go in actually expecting it to look like that.

At least with the paint app you can get that redone. Good luck finding a decent tailor who can work on small statues. And I presented you great exampkes of fully sculpted and great painted statues. Saying you want cheap cloth because it prevents a half assed paint job says something depressing about the hobby.

For the price you would need to pay to get a high level touched up paint job that could do the original sculpt honor, you might as well have just commissioned your own statue in the first place. You act like having someone redo the paint is an inexpensive and easy process. If you yourself can do it masterfully, then it's a weak argument to begin with since that's quite the special circumstances. Perhaps someone out there can very easily work the fabrics of these things as well.

Correct me if wrong but that pic was sdcc 2013 and we were told thst was a production sample. Not the proto.

I see both sides.. But SSC has done many great fully sculpted pieces with great paint apps. Personally for me... Bad clothing is just as bad as bad paint apps.. (as long as it's not bad paint apps on the face)

I own some of both. Your right it does show something depressing about this hobby. The fact that quality is so hit or miss. That's why I now go with what I feel is the safe bet until I get the characters I need or want. I will take my chances with statues that need to be fully sculpted like my droids or IM maquette but I prefer less haste like my Rocketeer or Captain America all fine examples of cloth used exceptionally well. If I can have a pro paint my statues fully sculpted all the way but SS doesn't offer me that at checkout.

Wow, do you work for Sideshow? Clearly the people (the majority of which are unhappy with Bats) that are complaining have hit a nerve. You sound VERY concerned and frustrated. Breathe, don't get your blood pressure up about it. This is a public forum with varying opinions. It sounds like YOURE the one who is taking this all too seriously. It's just a statue. LMAO "Satan?"
