I really get tired of all the negativity on these forums too, but in some cases its warranted. I'm still waiting on my EX to arrive to pass final judgement, but I'm very concerned. I have not seen one pic without the armpit issue. I worked on my Jack the Ripper pf for close to an hour to get the clothing to sit how I wanted it. But in this case, it sounds like it is glued on. To look perfect, I think the outfit would need to be stretched 1/4" so the seam tucks under the arm and the bat symbol should be partially covered by the cape. There's a pic posted somewhere in here of Canale's unpainted prototype with the bat symbol drawn on. It looks amazing. Has anyone tried adjusting the cloth yet? I'm just curious how well it is glued on.

You can see in my photo I was able to shift the symbol higher to get it partially under the cape. Not sure if it's possible with all. Of course I have the armpit issue, but the more I look at him the less it draws my eye. Just need to get the long ears head replaced.

I guess we are blending some notions here about "facts" and "negativity" ! From my point of view I will never try to influence someone' s idea about Batman statue or to cause a negative impact! I just try to show what I saw which is a "fact" and prove it for more than once. I believe if you are collecting for a long time, you have to learn to decide your judgements. This statue can't be the statue of the year or one of the best which SS has been produced because you know why! On the other hand it is not the worst either. Please try to be objective cause we wait for almost 2 years for what? When you compare a statue which is made of mixed media with a full of polystone, there is a huge difference in terms of WORK! Generally the head sculpt is more important in a full of clothing. In fact Sideshow gave a good decision to change the terms of premium format cause they saw the problems of producing fabrics for statues but still they are and I don't know why? Anyway I am happy for the ones who are in love with Batman and don't forget I purchased him too

If I got the bad armpits that some of these unfortunate people received I'd be upset, this one turned out close to perfect. All but the exception of a little scuffing on his boots (which I haven't decided if I'm going to complain about or not) and one little crease under his right arm. If it wern't for those two things I'd give him a 10/10.

Just finished setting him up. I'll tell you what I think about him. Remember the time when we complained that SS made hollow statues with hollow bases? Remember the time when we complained SS's quality control dropped considerably? Remember unimaginative bases? Remember lame EX prints? Remember when SS didn't even have a DC license? Well ladies and gentlemen, this statue certainly don't remind me of those times at all. The sculpted cape and and choice for tailoring makes this piece an art sculpture rather than looking like an oversized doll. It commands presence and I never did and still have no complaints about this piece. IMO its a home run, a future grail, and worth every penny. There, I said it. Oh and shame on those that posted deceiving crappy pictures early on and driving everyone into a frenzy , jk.

Now THIS is how SS used to do statues. This is epic. Pictures do not do the cape justice, it's massive. Finally a statue that is on par with Hulk PF, Spiderman PF, Captain America PF, easily worthy of being the first Batman. Its been a while since i opened a new statue and had a big a$$ grin the whole time.

Be careful unpacking, and setting up, lots of sharp edges that can get caught on something.

Ok guys, pack it up. Those rave words are just stirring up most of us.

Honestly I think I may have just gotten lucky, but I did spend a good time messing with fabric, just shifting everything to see what gave the best results. I did find a point where if I re-glued the fabric I could eliminate 80% of the pit issue, but that would just scare to me death on this thing.

It is kneed a big box, a bit smaller than the Thor PF box.
Getting my banner next week and then I will put it up on its own display

it just sucks imo that you can't get a statue and be like 'DAMN'…its beast and its finally here…instead (and obviously not just with this piece), you gotta look at this armpit thing and say hey if i do this, this, and that to it, i'll like it. While thats good and well, you shouldn't have to do anything besides assemble this thing. Put it together and smile…not put it together and start construction or have to call about paint apps…I'm not referring to a broken piece in shipping thats annoying but understandable..but actual QC issues suck and it sucks that despite paying and arm and a leg (and an armpit) some people can't get the piece they ordered...

agree, I already know its gonna have some armpit problem; the question is how bad. all of the pics I've seen so far have armpit problem with varying degree. if mine is so bad armpit then i'll carefully drill a hole inside the head and cape connection, toward the seam/armpit area. and needle stitch the seam back through the hole. i'll tie it and secure/seal it with epoxy resin and trim the excess. at this point, unless it got major flaw, its not worth it to get a refund or replacement.

good that some people are happy with theirs.

Yours looks great! The bicep and pec definition is not obscured by the fabric at all. Did it come like that or did you adjust it somehow? It appears the degree of sag in the fabric varies.
collector1 on SF placed a clear rubber band around the stitching on the left arm and it cinched the fabric to where it should be and it looks great. You don't even see the band because it is clear. A beautiful simple fix for the ones with sag issue. Check out the pics on pg 614 post 6137 on SF thread.

Can I please just ask m8, do you not think we all KNOW your arguments and oppinions, and while they are your opinions it doesn't mean your feelings about this overrule the feelings of others. If they think it is one of the GREATS then they are entitled to feel that way. Your feelings don't supersede theirs. I think a lot of guys here would be more accepting of you arguments if you didn't speak like your opinions are ABSOLUTE. There are FACTS associated with this piece, but how people feel about hose facts varies and that is where OPINIONS come in. You FEEL like this isn't a GREAT, but that doesn't mean others aren't aloud to FEEL like it is. You have to realize that repeatedly stating an opinion as a fact sounds ARROGANT and while I don't think you are... It is how you are comng across right now. Opinions are how we feel, and while yours is based on evidence, that does NOT make it a FACT.
