Man I've been ordering and collecting statues a long long time and every company that does Polystone/Cold Cast Porcelain Statues; Dc Direct, DC collectibles, Diamond Direct, Asylum Arts, Sideshow, Bowen, CS Moore etc. etc. have all at one point or another had shipping breakages. Some more often than others, but never, ever, have I heard of a Two Story Box drop test

I'm going to open these in about a half hour, the tension is killing me! Lol. I figure it's an early collecting lesson learned if I find out that one or both of these are screwed up. To be honest I'm a pretty decent artist and anything that's broke I could either fix myself or I'm sure I have a friend that could touch it up for me.

I hope that's not the case of course. I'll snap some pics as I'm opening them and then show the results.

Back when I collected and followed Bowen, I believe he said they did a 3 foot box drop test. If the boxed statue couldn't survive a 3 foot drop they either had to rework the box or the statue.

Without the box

3 feet I could see, but that didn't stop Bowens from being broken in shipping. Two Stories? I'd have to see some video of that to believe it.

no damage...very nice paint jobs....my first two sideshow figures...they are amazing to be honest and exactly how I remember them in person at SDCC some 3 years back...or was it 2. I can't remember.

whew.

anyway....lesson learned. (always check your figures!!!)

sorry the pics aren't better...sun was setting and my battery was low on my phone so I didn't have a flash for most of the shots.

when I get my home studio set up...I'll post some much nicer images all lit and pretty

I am stoked...like I mentioned I was working on Batman the Dark Knight (the monthly comic) at the time these were solicited...I was walking through San Diego Comic Con and saw these...and was like..."HOLY COW....those are bad ass." I couldn't stop thinking about them and started to get super paranoid they might sell out....I had a friend watch my table and ran over to their booth and put the down payment in for them.

I am wanting the Joker now...we will see

I've personally witnessed the guys test their box.
Tossing it out of the second story window, rolling it down the stairs, and not a scratch on Capt.

Posted on Statue Forums regarding XM boxes....

Of course I'm not going to try and throw my Capt. out a second story window, i'll just take their word for It
