It's from the Playhouse SEAL team 10, to me the sculpt looks like a doofus but I guess he's based on a real guy.

I was also thinking about doing that with mine and I like what you have done but I agree with EVIL, I was never a fan of that HS. I think it make him look baked. Do you have any other HS you can try?

yeah, based on a real SEAL. that is a great set from playhouse.

beachhead is still the best joe so far imo (for cobra it would be ss and firefly). been re-modeling so all my stuff was boxed up. he was the first one i dug out last night. such a nice looking figure. lots of cool parts gear-wise also.

For those who hate molded boots: from DIDs new French paratrooper figure comes a pretty good replacement minus one belt strap.

The irony is, the real guy who the HS is based on is closer to a real-life GI Joe than any of the celebrity heads you typically get off a 1/6 figure. I imagine he could whip most people in the behind pretty easily as well.

The DID Paratrooper is an Asian only exclusive, the boots might be hard to obtain unfortunately.
Also, the Paratrooper comes with a MAT 49, which is the original Beachhead's weapon.

Ever since Beach was announced, I thought about buying some leather Newline or Soldier Story M43 boots and using some black shoe polish to darken them up but haven't tried it as I don't know how effective it would be or if it might cause some staining so I never attempted it.
These would be a perfect fix for both Beach and Hawk so I hope they'll be a little easier and cheaper then we're fearing.

Of course the best solution is for Sideshow to start using cloth boots on their Joes. For the prices they're asking i don't think it's asking too much.
