I like Sideshow's trooper knee pads but always prefer cloth to plastic. I got a pair of Soldier Story Navy Seal SDV knee pads for my Steel Brigade figure, same style as Sideshow's Trooper kneepads but the velcro was $#!%. I fixed them with some elastic bands I sewed up to keep the tabs to the straps and they're perfect now.

Got a new head, yay:

Also added some knee pads.

Beach head will be my first SideShow figure. I can not wait to get him.. What other Sideshow figure has "gear" you can use to equip Beach head differently?

Sorry about the Noob question

Yes, any SSC Joe may have parts you might like to add to your figure. Mine came from a variety of 1/6 military figure gear and uni sources, though most of it was indeed SSC Beach.

Yup. All I did was put a better peice of cloth on his shoulder for the berret.

Oh and put him on a Duke body to get rid of the ratchet knees . .

Thanks for the help.

Sure thing. I really enjoyed customizing my SSC Beachhead and am pretty happy with how it turned out. Some folks are fine with figures stock out of the box, but I realize it's also fun to put things together yourself. Try visting toyanxiety dot com and other 1/6 retailers to see what kinds of part outs are available and go from there.

A radio. Beach, the other Joes and Cobra Troops are severely lacking proper communications gear.
Why Sideshow skipped the com gear is puzzling.

Though I don't feel it's necessary, I can agree with that. To me the Joes always seemed like the team that gets their orders, do the missions and make it to the LZ for pick-up. If the fit hits the shan, they find their own ride back. Not a whole lotta radio chatter back to base.

I think they left it out because they are trying to walk that fine line between modern versions of the characters and their original counterparts. I just like the fact that they did some upgrade weapons and gear that brings them up to current military standards. I think its one thing that would have been appreciated if included, but most wont miss it.

I wouldn't equip Beach with anything more than maybe knee pads. Sideshow nailed him perfectly.

Yup, see my post a few pages back.

That too. I gave headsets to both Duke and Flint, and have three extra headsets already available for Dusty, Stalker and whoever is after Hawk (since Hawk already comes with a handheld). Can't find one that suits Beachhead, especially with his balaclava. I wish Sideshow made the smaller comm units like the SEAL team in Tears of the Sun had, with the smaller headpiece and throat mics.

Again, I agree, but I'd like the comm units to communicate not necessarily with base or mobile command center, but with one another.

Sort of off topic, but I'd like to see Sideshow add stuff to the Joes like MREs and claymores and additional equipment related to a specific Joe and their military specialty. I still think Dusty should have come with a Camelbak / hydration system.

I mean, look at all the additional stuff the Star Wars Jedis came with:

Jedi Aqua Breather
Jedi Food Capsules
Jedi Holoprojector
Jedi Comlink
