Re: SS Cobra Commander Photo Thread

that wild bill and cutter are so flippin' awesome...and they aren't even in their respective vehicles. and your flint is just dead on perfect. man, awesome stuff!

Thanks, Orc! The vehicle drivers/pilots is pretty much my way of honoring some of the classic vehicles since they'd be nearly impossible to have at this scale.

That Flint does look good. It kinda looks like: josh duhamel

I'm pretty sure that's who the sculpt is actually based off.

Glad you guys dig Flint! Though he's do for some adjustments again at some point. I never really feel like I finish any of these. :dunno

1/6th scale vamp...:drool

still think my favorite of your customs is hit & run. such a bad ass character.

Re: SS Cobra Commander Photo Thread

Funny the things you find on old hardrives. Think this shot is almost a year old cause it was done the same night I did the interrogation setup.

Never thought I'd actually dig the cane as much as I do.

Great shots mando!

I wonder if AW177 ever found his exclusive. I was kind of surprised that he was having trouble finding one at a good price. I got mine way late (only a month or so before AW177 was looking) and I got 2 of them for less than retail. And there is at least one on ebay right now for less than what I would have paid shipped from Sideshow.

Does the Hot Toys True Type Narrow Shoulders body work with CC or are the arms still long?

Yup, the arms are a little long on a TT. I used a TTL 3.0 body, since the arms are slightly shorter and perfect for the CC uniform.

The perfect body for Cobra Commander is the Saturday Toys bod. As a matter of fact, it's perfect for all the Prometheus 1.0 figures as it gives them perfect proportions as well as (for Flosi and Kara's benefit) an actual butt.

I just tried on the Saturday Toys body from a spare body I had from the ST Men Suit Set, and while the arm lengths work, the body is just too "built" and muscular for Cobra Commander.

I'm just going to get a Hot Toys TT narrow shoulder and shorten the forearms via modification instead.

I left him as is. If I was to swap him I'd put him on a Saturday Toys body as well or Fireflys 1.1 Pro.

Once I had all the gear on him, I didn't think that. Besides, I'm hard pressed to see where Cobra Commander was a skinny little weakling anyway. If you're not satisfied with the ST-1, your best bet would probably be to leave him on the Pro. The only other option would be a Slim TT and that makes him look like Destro locked him in a cell for a few months with only bread and water.

Out curiosity, what do you have to do to modify the length?

I think it makes sense for him to be a scrawny guy, but nobody ever said he was a weakling.
Bear in mind he's essentially a businessman with a gun.

that doesn't mean he CAN'T do some damage when he needs to.

that said, I think the Pro V 1.0 or 1.1 are fine for him.

It will require slicing the forearm in the middle and removing a portion out and refusing it to the required length.

What does it matter? I thought my CC looked fine on the ST-1:

But apparently he's too buffed. All these newbs know more than us anyway. :huh:lol

Kick back guy. He was just asking a question out of curiosity. Not everyone needs to modify their CC to look like yours. And before you get riled up and start a flame war, I ain't saying anything bad about your version of CC. In fact, I think yours looks good. Really good. But each collector has his own preferences on certain characters, and I want my CC another way. So since this "newb" respects your opinion, respect mine.

Well said. The businessman with a gun metaphor is how I view him too.
