Yeah, it reminds me of the sweet combat fleece stuff we have, except with a hood. Keeps you warm on those cold nights, but certainly not good enough for arctic/winter warfare.

???? it. I bought a damn "urban camo" BBI guy, and I'll buy the Goddamn Firefly and get his damn Cobra Trooper head painted. But just because I caved this time, Sideshow, doesn't mean it is OK. It is less than Ok.

I'm probably gonna sell the parka, though.

Also, it looks to me like the turtle neck sweater doesn't actually have a turtle neck based on what we've seen. It covers his whole neck, but it looks like the head may actually slip over the top of the sweater.

Although an interesting figure, it strays way too far from the traditional appearance of Firefly for my taste.
The costume is too baggy, there's too many gray panels on the costume (not enough camo), no camo on the mask, the submachine gun doesn't replicate the original weapon accurately (I still say a modern version of the TEC-9 is far closer to the fictional Firefly weapon) And they added a hood for some reason.

I'm not opposed to a different version of the character, but I want the traditional appearances of these characters or ones that only have modern elements added, before the updated ones.

If Sideshow simply camouflages the mask, and includes a matching camouflage BDU shirt and pants set, they'll have a lot more happy customers.

Not got a clue when it comes to GI Joe. In the slightest. So reading the comments in this thread I feel sorry for all the traditionalists.

Tell you what though I really like it. I think it looks awesome as a figure. Something really grabbed me the first time I saw it. May even be tempted to order it!

This figure looks realistic. Im loving the realistic look that Sideshow provides for the figures. The original Firefly to be honest look like a camouflage Snake Eyes wannabe. For Christ sakes the original had the same outfit as storm shadow except long sleeves and camouflage. My problem with Sideshow figure is the goggles and pretty much thats it.

This figure looks realistic. Im loving the realistic look that Sideshow provides for the figures. The original Firefly to be honest look like a camouflage Snake Eyes wannabe. I just find it funny that someone who knows so much about military gear can't tell the difference from arctic gear and regular weather shells.

Cold weather coveralls, I know. This new crap, no. And to this day, I'll still gladly trade that for the ability to assemble 3 different rifles blindfolded.

the mask is wrong and I think there is plenty of time to adjust that part of the assembly line. all other problems with the figure are probably too late to fix because they involves cutting dies and fabrics etc.

so enough about the cold weather gear!!

its a distraction being brought up by SSC apologists to foil the progress we should be making on the balacava.

I still think it's fine with the charcoal color it has now, and actually prefer it over having it painted with huge white blotches to match the cammo he's wearing.

Honestly, I feel like we should NOT have to already discuss changing Sideshow's 'version' of Firefly to make it have key aspects of the RAH Firefly.

C'mon, if we are dropping $125 on a G.I. Joe product from Sideshow, we shouldn't also have to be planning to get the head repainted because for some strange, unacceptable, and unpopular reason Sideshow decided to completely stray from the source material and their own concept art.

Paint the darn head camo Sideshow; with the dark-grey head, he just looks like some urban camo-commando and NOT the GI Joe Firefly. Do I have my hopes up that Sideshow will actually listen to us? NO, but if they don't paint the head camo, this will be a major slap in the face to the GI Joe line.

I like it a lot. I´ll definitely buy it.

I read somewhere when they revealed the GIJoe line that their idea was to do some new "reading" of the concepts.

At first I was going to buy one Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, but I bought everyone so far (even the Crimson Cobra Commander) and I´m really enjoying the line.

Nope, it's gray. Darth Cruel saw it as gray too. There's the light, what I'd call "PT" gray, a standard gray and a charcoal gray that matches his balaclava and turtleneck. I don't know what to tell ya bud.
