Seriously though, I understand the complaints, but I think he looks good. His gear is awesome, as is the expression of his eyes. I grew up reading the Marvel comic (canon to me) and watching the cartoon (entertaining but not canon IMO). Prior to Sideshow's acquisition of the Joe license, I had no contact with any of the newer (relatively) Joe stuff, such as the Devil's Due books or the 25th Anniversary line. While the outfit doesn't match the original, personally I don't need or want an exact copy of the original figure. I guess I'm the exception.

If you have a closer look at the pic guys, the mask is gray. It's darker, but it's still gray, not black as some have mentioned. Borrowed one of Dino's pics to show ya:

Am I the only one who thinks he looks good. OK, he doesn't resemble the original figure that much. I can get past that. I do think that he represents a good "real modern" Firefly.

I will be buying.

If by modern you mean "Rise Of Cobra" you are correct.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's disappointed by this figure. As a generic military figure, it's nice; as Firefly, it's a generic military figure. I think the majority of us collecting this line are more interested in matching the ARAH likenesses as much as possible. This is a complete deviation from that.

I'm expecting a few fouls with every home run. And to date, with minor issues, they've been batting home runs with the Joe line.

i don't see why they can't perfect a real 1/6 scale balaclava. i've seen customs with real masks and they look good. they would probably fit even better over these sculpted masked heads. a real camo balaclava would work wonders for this figure. too bad there isn't any 1/6 camo masks out there. is there?

No, , but to be honest, it could've been a hell of a lot worse. With all the home runs they've been hitting, it was time for a foul. The good thing is, from a bashing perspective, he won't be THAT difficult to mod.

No doubt he's a cool looking figure. If some third party company released him for $50 or so, I might consider buying him as a generic Cobra lackey. But he is not remotely Firefly, and I'm not gonna pay $120 for him.

I have to say Im looking forward to seeing the mod thread on this guy once released.. I doubt anyone's will stay original so they'll be plenty of good ideas.
