I dunno. I was just looking at a picture of the old toy, and the likeness on the Sideshow figure looks slightly off somehow:

I was just looking at the Flint vs Zartan Dio. And I noticed that Flint has a machete on his back. I then checked out the 12 inch again and found no machete. I really like the idea of a machete, what about you guys??

Yeah, I figured it was because the Dio setting is in a swamp/jungle. I just thought it looked cool. I think I am going to try and find one in 1/6. Never know when things might get nasty for ole' Flint.

That was posted way back when the teaser was announced, before Flint was up for pre-order. However, no pics of the beret-less portrait have been posted yet, and he's to ship in September. No biggie, but I'd just like to see some new pics.

To me it looks like an old man. Nothing like the character from the comics, cartoon or anything. I do realize that they are coming up with their own take on the figures, but this is the worst one yet. Looks like an old man raided Flint's closet!

I wouldn't say it's bad, it's just not what I was looking for. Flint's head in the Zartan dio is what I would have prefered.

Looks like a hardened soldier to me. The original figure with the Grinch smile would have looked so silly in 1/6

I agree. The character of Flint in the comic and cartoon was never that of a grizzled, hardened soldier. He was tough, but it didn't show on his face with a snarly expression and wrinkles. I like the sculpt on the Palisades bust quite a bit more. I think it is a better reflection of the face on the card art, which is about as authoritative a source as you can get for character design.
