I think Sideshow's sculpt better matches the description on the filecard. You guys want pretty faces on male figures, go collect Tonners.

You think this picture has a pretty face?

Is this a new thing for you or did you think that as a kid as well? Any other Joe males you find attractive or is Flint the prettiest?

While I like the statue sculpt more, the 1/6 is fine with me. After seeing Storm Shadows unmasked face, we should have known the figures would not look like previous renderings.

Im guessing Flint is around 30 years old. That head sculpt makes him look like he is 50. Its just bad. I may get the figure and have someone custom make me a better one, mass produce it and sell it as a replacement, MORE ACCURATE head.:nana:

:exactly: You're not the only one. Sideshow's human sculpts have always been weak. The Beach"head" sculpt is so cartoonish it looks like Popeye the sailor man. When it comes to helmeted or masked figures Sideshow kicks ass but to date their track record of Joes just plain sucks.

I agree, but they are not horrible. I mean if it wasnt for the outfits, I couldnt tell if that was flint or Randy Coutour. And Beachhead looks like one of the Lolly Pop Kids from The Wizard of Oz. Too funny. :lol

My god you're right, he does!

Sideshow must be getting serious about a 1:6 line of Wizard Of Oz. :lol

Deflection. I love it. :lol

Not sure I'd want sideshow going with that "blow-up doll" expression. But since that's what you're looking for, clearly, hey... have fun sailor. ;)

Who's deflecting. No one here except for you, and you alone, have admitted to considering Flint's card art to be a "pretty face." Now you admit that when you look at it you consider it to be sexual in nature. You think original Flint is pretty, and sexual. We get it.

However there is a group of us that would prefer that all SSC Joes match the original card art as closely as possible, for no other reason than we consider said art to be the definitive representations of each character.

Whatever feeling you get when looking at old action figure art might be best left unmentioned, and certainly not projected onto others.

I thought that was a given (with a few exceptions, you know who you are).

Matching as close as possible is great. So I guess I'm that "you know who you are" is me cause I don't mind some deviation from that.

I think it was a given for everyone but Nam. His fixation with Flint's "prettiness" obviously clouded his perception of the default preference for the rest of us.

Personally I think SSC's Flint sculpt works well as a 2010 version of the classic Flint. Meaning that if he was 25 in 1985 this might be how he'd look as a grizzled 50 year old now. And that alone makes it pretty cool.

As I've said before I like the fact the figure looks like randy couture. Something about it I like and I'm not a huge MMA fan.
