I think it comes down to, movie version or not, it's Spider-Man vs Star-Lord. Of course Spider-Man, even with a movie not as acclaimed as GotG, has pages of more interest. It's a Spider-Man statue, and although not comic, many will buy it thinking it's close enough. Spider-Man statues sell unless they're complete crap. And even then...

The fact that they haven't been teasing more of those revealed ironman is frustrating.

-no asm2 pf
-no rocket pf shown for sure
-no starlord
-slipping on capitalizing on stark week for ironman...


Wtf is going on behind the scenes at sideshow. They need to allow their social media personnel to continually tease and produce hype for their statues. Or people will continue to find other options. You make it to the market first. So important! If not first, within a couple week window of another company.

Example, XM is going to clean up on their ironman stuff because sideshow is sleeping. Granted sideshow could show it, and XM's may still be better. But atleast they are giving their product a fighting chance.

They don't have to announce the release date. They can show us concept drawings, pictures of tiny aspects of the statues ( IE ASM2 Spidey PF)... They can string us alog for the info. But don't tease something, tell us it's in a rough development stage, then have it disappear of the face of the earth)

Yes, it's a very strategic choice to not take advantage and ride the coattails of the film's success right now and try to get this statue out with photos for preorder.

Wait til the buzz dies down and get less sales up front and more inventory sitting in the warehouse. VERY wise move.

This is nothing new. It took forever for them to release ironman PFs...they were never in sync with any of the movies.

Loved the movie! Watched it a third time last weekend... definitely gonna keep an eye out for the Star-Lord PF along with the Rocket PF but I so wish Sideshow copied the same idea as Gentle Giant and released a combined PF of Rocket AND Groot

Those would be the only characters I'd want from the movie apart from maybe Ronin and of course....Thanos but I do think we'll get to see a movie Thanos PF after Avengers 2

Never even thought of that but you're so right, we could essentially get a movie Thanos PF before we get a comic version but I hope not

Hot Toys also only has to really sculpt the face, the rest is tailoring and 3d printing out weapons and hands. Not exactly the same as taking 6 months+ to sculpt a statue.
