Well....this spiraled out of control lightening quick....

It all started with me removing a couple things from the Commander (like a suicide strap and sidearm ) to be more accurate to the figure/cart art. Next thing I know I was ripping the face shield off of a Viper helmet, a dremel came out, there was boiling water, the smell of dremel heated melting plastic and 40 minutes later I ended up with this.....





















I think I need to move the dome around some, not really sure. I need to sit back and take a breath and think about what I've done.....

What body does this work on besides the sideshow one? I tried it on the flint sideshow body, and of some reason it doesn't seem to fit very well (even though I'm pretty sure its exactly the same as CC). I've been hearing of mis-sewn suit floating around.

There's a ridge.

Well, its not perfect. But I can turn his head side to side and there is no half mask with black sculpt showing. Aside from the point in the helmet, I'm really digging the Viper shield. Of course after all the work I put in, how could I say I don't like it .....

It was a royal pain in the ***. At no point during the entire process do I think I had made a good decision . I am pretty happy with the end result, but it was by no means a walk in the park.

Incidentally, the Viper shield fits perfectly over the Cobra Commander blank sculpt, Sideshow should have just used a variant of the Viper shield instead of using a lame face plate.

Was it the same blank sculpt under the viper?
Is your CC face plate up for grabs? Mine has an annoying mark on one side...

There is no sculpt in the Viper helmet.

No, not right now anyway. That's to precious an accessory to give up. No telling when something like that can and will come in handy.
