Good to hear that the "articlated" "figler" has a good likeness to "Mike Hamill", too bad the paint could be "beder".

Sigh, Sideshow please stop sending this buffoon free "figlers" to review.

Yeah, I try to stay positive about anyone with the balls to put their stuff out for public consumption - especially on the internet - but I just can't watch that guy. But cheers to him for getting such notoriety out of sheer perseverance. Because he sure didn't get there with critical thinking and articulate commentary.

I like Sean because he seems like a nice guy. I can agree that he's not always the most articulate and maybe speaks a bit too fast at times but I'm kind of guilty of the same so he might not necessarily mean to be that way (I know I don't) and it's not cool to get on him for that.

How is that unreasonable? It's been done with other figures with lightsabers. At the price they could have put it in (Hot Toys did that and much more for less). Knowing Sideshow that probably would have drove the cost over $300.

Sideshow's experiment with light up sabers started and ended with their Ep. 1 Obi-Wan which didn't turn out well. It would be nice but I think Sideshow knows they just cant do it. I still struggle to understand why SSC can't step it up to HT's level, especially for a similar price point.

He does seem like a nice person, but I just cringe when I watch his videos. I went back and forth on whether I should watch his review or not, because I knew I would be irritated by it, maybe I shouldn't have. He needs to slow way down and think things through before he makes a video. I will say that I like that he doesn't dwell much on the packaging.
I've had a similar problem with Todd McFarlaine who just does not come across well in interviews and I feel it portrayed the world of comic books in a bad light. Maybe it's more my issue than theirs, I'll leave it at that.

If you're going to present reviews that are essentially video images w/ voiceover I don't know how discussion of the quality of voiceover is "not cool", but hey - fair enough. I'll say this - skimmed through the review and there was less of the repetitive talk of how awesome stuff is and more actual criticism from what I watched. But just being honest...even the white balance is terrible.

I'm sure he is a nice guy, just commenting on the presentation he produces.

Mocking someone for their speech patterns and social mannerisms is uncool. If you don't like a figure...that's your right to criticize it...but dogging on another collector is adult playground equivalent of shoving the little stuttering kid to the ground and kicking dirt in his face just because he's different. If you don't like his vids...don't watch em....but I invite you keep your mockery of another human being to yourself.

It's his right to criticise someone's method of presentation when that person is putting it out there for public consumption and being compensated for it.

It's not remotely like the playground scenario you used or the vitriol in the post you deleted. Heal thyself. :duff

If it were constructive criticism, like "try different camera angles" or "tone down your light source"....I could agree with you as a "Method of presentation". Making fun of how someone speaks however it 100% pure bullying and I'm sorry if i'm the only one with enough courage to call it out when it happens.

I've had far, FAR worse things said to me by people I've called family and friends let alone strangers than what I had said about Sean Long. You have no clue what bullying is pal.

No, it's not bullying in any way except how that word has been laughably adapted to encompass any kind of interpersonal friction.

If you've been reviewing figures for ages and receive free merch and probably ad revenue it's reasonable to think you could work a little harder on your presentation. Rushed observations with obviously no prep are not the same as a speech impediment. Criticism doesn't have to be done with kid gloves.

But it is amusing how you yourself were very insulting in your deleted post and are now also patting yourself on the back for your courageousness.

Muted video provides good look at the figure.

-Outfit looks pretty good to me but too clean for my taste.
-The paint apps on the helmet are a huge letdown and on par with the xwing figure so that is pretty disappointing.
-The below average facial paint is again masked to decent effect by the helmet.
-The extra head is indeed poor and of no use at all.
-$295 for a decent snowspeeder luke outfit seems awful steep.
-Why are they sending out review samples of a figure that is "sold out"? :monkey3

It wasn't "rushed observations and prep" that was being mocked...it was EXACTLY speech impediments that's the issue....you don't make fun of people because of who they are...that includes your condescending "observations" as well. Stick to ripping down figures....not other people.

Agreed....this one definitely wasn't too short to be a Storm trooper.

That was the most concerning thing I saw, Hamill is 5' 9", this figure is a behemoth.

Sideshow have made some strange body choices in their Hoth line. This one will be yet another body swap.

Prometheus 1.0 was perfect for X-Wing Luke, and X-Wing Luke's body was perfect for Hoth Luke.
