I'm still on the "want this" side...

However, if the body swap becomes an issue then that would be the killing joke. I don't want a Luke who is as tall as Han Solo on the shelf.

I want a pilot Luke but I'm also fairly certain HT will do this figure a year or so from now...

Well for my modest ESB collection, so far I have DX07 Luke (clean version) displayed on the Bespin diorama base and HT Yoda standing on his own without the Dagobah base. The only other two I'll be adding is this and the SSC Solo in carbonite. Since my DX07 is displayed on the raised Bespin base, hopefully that means this figure won't tower over him. Also, with this one being slightly oversized, that will probably make up for the fact that Yoda is also slightly oversized and when displayed next to this, will probably look more in scale.

Picture the paint apps on the helmet if Hot Toys did one...

That is a good idea, Silver.
I plan to display this figure with Vader and Yoda, so I hope it is the same for me.

I was however planning a body swap for this figure, but the body swap would be with a DX07 body that I have. DX07 body was a bit too tall as well for Luke.

I have a question for you, guys, do you know if Sideshow still uses this kind of foot joint?

I would be interested in using this Luke body with a Snowtrooper (they were too short and the body is too loose on every articulation....).

Looks like a pretty good figure. I love the snowspeeder suit looks really well done. Second head could be better but it looks a bit better then the red five luke. I would of got this if the price was cheaper doesn't seem to be worth the $270 but cost is up for being a exclusive and having the additional head I'm guessing.

I can picture Wor-Gar right now trying to make him fit

Sorry but there is only one solution!

Head sculpt looks just as bad as the X-wing Luke to me. Hands are giant, the figure itself is giant, and the suit looks poor fitting and puffy.

On the fence with this figure for this exact reason. Pilot Luke is one of my most wanted figures but the thought of buying this one and then HT coming out with a better version always stops me from ordering. With all the movies coming out, plus the celebration reveals, if HT is doing this version of Luke it has got to be at least 2-3 years away.

I'd prefer ESB to ANH but is Red 5 a decent place holder for now? (displayed with helmet on)

Yeah, I'd agree -- by the time we actually have an HT pilot Luke in our hands, likely 2-3 years from now at best.

Assuming, HT previews such in about a year, and then its usually a good year to 14 months out until delivery, plus the usual 2 month delay.

So the question becomes: are you 3 years patient, or can you afford a place-holder at near $300 now?
