The helmet head has a sculpted cap on it. The hair is permanently attached to the other head, though it might be possible to break it off.

Thanks for the info. Did wongderek say where he bought Luke from in HK? I'm thinking of asking someone to get me one. Was it Secret Base?

Can anyone confirm if the "greeblie" is stitched into the flight jacket please? Some of the pictures look like there is some extra stitching where it is supposed to be, but I haven't actually seen anything yet. Maybe it is hidden by the flack jacket??

Nathan, any chance you can take some pics of the unhelmeted head? Your photos tend to be very true-to-life when it comes to figures.

Good eye. The chest greeblie is also evident in this photo. However, the SS version doesn't appear to have it.

Here is another closer shot from the review. Although he never makes mention of it in the review, it does look to be there and completely stitched in.

Bummed that this figure is not included in the 40th Anniversary $30 off deal. That would have put him in an almost acceptable price range.

Oh well I am patient.

Yes, it is, but unless you pull the white piece over you can't even see it. I didn't know it was there until I read your post, but it is correctly done.

Except for the "deep in thought" expression of the eyes, they are some of the best irises Sideshow has ever done. The paint app on the skin is also very good, as good as Hot Toys. I haven't analyzed the likeness, but the sculpt quality is very nice.

Thanks for posting the head shots... it doesn't look too bad. Something feels a bit blocky about the head, maybe it's a case of helmet hair that's throwing off the likeness. I wonder what the face would look like if you pried off the hair; which I'm sure someone will do before too long :lol

I'm not sure if it's the paint apps, but that bare head sculpt just doesn't look like Luke/Hamill to me. But the one in the helmet does.

It's the same issue I have with my X-Wing Luke. Helmeted sculpt is on display. Bare head is somewhere in my spare parts bin.

Same here... with the helmet it's 100% Luke, when it's off it just looks weird. The Hoth was a bit similar; looked much better in the helmet and the 2nd head was pretty funky looking.
