Then perhaps a smirk would be more fitting. If I could chose the expression, I would go with full out of control Berserker. The masked head sculpt we saw looked great so I'm not concerned that much with the unmasked head sculpt.
I could dig a full out berserker rage sculpt, but there, you wouldn't seem him smiling fiendishly. He would just be screaming, like the PFs. But I'm with you, if I got this at all I wouldn't be displaying him sans mask anyway.

And I also love first appearance Wolvie. I thought it was a real shame the blue and yellow PF didn't have that as a switch out head.

Sculpts were more warped on the Han and Luke than on the prototypes, but I think SSC kept expectations realistic by the fact that their prototypes didn't seem to have super nice paint jobs like, say, the new Beetlejuice does. Seems like they had the heads cast in flesh tones and then did the more subtle paintwork over that.

That's how all good production figures have been made for a long time, so I doubt that part of the process is going to change going forward. This figure along with their other comic-inspired heroes lean more toward caricature, but that's entirely intentional.

Looking forward to seeing the clothing tightened up a bit before production as well as seeing any tweaks to the masked sculpt and those optional mouth pieces.

Right, Hot Toys does the same, but I was referring to the initial prototypes at SDCC and associated solicitation pics. That's why I think there wasn't as much of a disparity between prototype and production.

I still love my Plissken.

Though I'm fully aware I might be president and treasurer of a club than comprises no other members. :lol

I also love my Han Hoths and Luke Hoth. (Sculpts with the caps on look far superior to the non-hatted heads).

This SS Marvel line seems to have good head sculpts, but iffy choice of costuming. An amalgamation of ideas rather than being based on a specific comic design.

Gotcha, yes. Which is why I think for the most part they're shipping what they're showing, including fabric selection and cut and sew. There will always be exceptions and SSC aren't alone here.

So did they scrap the masked face with the switch out mouth pieces ?
I'd prefer a masked face too!

Ok quick edit!
I take it back I like the new version face sculpt a lot better!

Gi Joe line 2.0

5 figs in 6 years later, line on hold

Some pics I took today. Not quite what I was expecting but doesn't look horrible. Just not sure if I want to pay the $200+ that SS is probably gonna charge for him.

Apart from the eyes, the resemblance is uncanny, and I've been thinking Dafoe all along for this guy. :)
